🎾 What if a trip to the Australian Open was only the beginning?

For this week’s "Feature Friday", we’re sharing an Australian multi-week adventure that was especially fun for our team to bring to life with the help of our friends at Travel Answers Group.

The Australian Open was the original inspiration for the trip, so the journey begins with an extended stay in Melbourne and plenty of time to enjoy the excitement of the tournament. But Australia has far too much to experience to stop there!

Between match days, these travelers will get to know another side of Melbourne, explore the breathtaking Great Ocean Road, see the Twelve Apostles, meet some of Australia’s native wildlife, and watch Phillip Island’s little penguins make their way home from the sea.

Next, they’ll trade the energy of the city for the tropical beauty of Port Douglas. One day will be spent sailing to the Low Isles, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef with a marine biologist, hopefully swimming alongside sea turtles. Another will take them deep into the Daintree, with a walk through Mossman Gorge, a wildlife cruise along the river, and even a stop for ice cream made with exotic fruit grown in a local orchard.

Their final chapter unfolds in Sydney, where they’ll go beneath the sails during a VIP tour of the Sydney Opera House, meet Australian wildlife with a Taronga zookeeper, spend a day among the waterfalls and sweeping views of the Blue Mountains, and watch the city begin to sparkle during a sunset dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour.

We love how this itinerary begins with one big reason to travel, then grows into something so much more. A chance to experience Australia’s cities, coastlines, wildlife, rainforest, and reef all in one thoughtfully paced journey.

Now we have to ask: which part would you be most excited about—the Australian Open, the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree, or Sydney Harbour? 🇦🇺

At Travel & Cruise Desk, we believe great travel starts with great people, and kindness is at the heart of everything we do!

That’s why we’re incredibly proud to celebrate our Client Concierge Caitlin, who was selected as one of just 40 travel professionals under 40 to attend this year’s Kindness Conference hosted by ALG Vacations.

Chosen from more than 600 nominations, Caitlin is spending the week alongside other inspiring professionals exploring what it means to practice kindness. Not only toward others, but toward ourselves and within the travel industry as a whole.

This recognition is a reflection of the care, compassion, and genuine heart she brings to our team and to every traveler she helps.

Congratulations, Caitlin! We’re so proud to have you representing Travel & Cruise Desk, and we can’t wait to hear all about the ideas and inspiration you’re bringing home. 💙

One of the most meaningful things about travel is the opportunity to leave a place just a little better than you found it.

Earlier this year, while visiting St. John's, Antigua aboard Explora Journeys, our advisor, Melinda, had the opportunity to deliver school supplies to Antigua Girls' High School through Pack for a Purpose by Travel Elevates. The supplies were collected thanks to the generosity of our advisors, clients, and partners through Travel Elevates and the Sandals Foundation.

Antigua Girls' High School serves nearly 600 students between the ages of 12 and 17. It's a small act of kindness, but one that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young women.

At Travel Cruise Desk, giving back is part of who we are.

That's why 10% of every Beyond Planning & Service Fee is donated directly to Travel Elevates, helping support meaningful initiatives in the destinations we visit and the communities that welcome travelers from around the world.

To everyone who chooses to travel with us, thank you.

Your journeys don't just create unforgettable memories... they help create opportunities to give back. Together, we're making a difference one trip at a time. ❤️

One of our favorite parts of planning travel is discovering experiences people didn't even know to look for.

When most people think of Dublin, they of course picture lively pubs, historic landmarks, and cobblestone streets. But now there's another experience worth adding to the itinerary to slow things down a bit.

Introducing BASK, the newly opened thermal suite at The Davenport Dublin! Designed for rest, relaxation, and renewal, BASK features a luminous swimming pool, vitality pool, salt sauna, steam cabin, cold plunge, and tranquil relaxation spaces, all in the heart of the city.

Even better, guests staying at any of the hotels within the O'Callaghan Collection can reserve access to BASK, making it easy to add a luxurious wellness experience to your Dublin stay, no matter which of their properties you choose!

Whether you're unwinding after a day of sightseeing or simply looking to slow the pace for an afternoon, BASK is a beautiful reminder that some of the best travel experiences are the ones you never expected to find!

June was a month full of incredible adventures, and our travelers certainly kept us busy!

From the glaciers of Alaska to the vineyards of Italy, the sun-soaked beaches of Mexico, the castles of Scotland, the wildlife of Kenya, and so many destinations in between, Travel Cruise Desk clients explored some truly amazing corners of the world. Whether by sea, by land, or by plane, every trip was an opportunity to experience something new.

Some celebrated milestone anniversaries. Others checked off long-awaited bucket list destinations. Families made memories together, couples escaped on romantic getaways, and friends set out to discover somewhere new. Every itinerary had its own story, and we're grateful to have been part of every single one.

No two trips looked alike and that is exactly how we like it. To everyone who trusted us with your travels this June, thank you!

Helping our clients explore the world is the best part of what we do, and seeing this map come to life each month is a reminder of just how many incredible adventures begin with a simple conversation. ✈️

Travel That Circles Back | Meaningful Travel from Namibia to Lake Oswego — Travel & Cruise Desk | Travel Agency | Lake Oswego, OR 06/28/2026

Some journeys stay with us long after we return home.

Not because of the places we visited, but because of the people we met, the perspectives we gained, and the connections we never expected to make.

Our latest journal story, Travel That Circles Back, reflects on how the values that shape meaningful travel can connect communities half a world apart: from a school in northern Namibia to a community event here in Lake Oswego.

Sometimes the greatest impact of travel isn't measured in miles. It's measured in the way those experiences come full circle!

Read the full story on our journal:

Travel That Circles Back | Meaningful Travel from Namibia to Lake Oswego — Travel & Cruise Desk | Travel Agency | Lake Oswego, OR From a school lunch program in Namibia to community events in Lake Oswego, discover how shared values connect people across the world through meaningful travel.

Travel has a way of reminding us that some of life’s best moments can’t be scheduled.

It’s the street musician you stop to listen to, the café you stumble upon by accident, the sunset that turns into the highlight of the trip, or the conversation with someone you’ll never forget.

The puppy you find wandering through an Inuit Village in East Greenland that your coat smelled like the rest of the trip.

The communities that welcome you into their culture and traditions with open hearts.

The landmarks are worth seeing, but it’s often the unexpected moments that become the memories you carry home.

So we’re curious…

What’s the most memorable “unexpected” moment you’ve experienced while traveling?

Share your story in the comments! We’d love to hear it! It might even inspire someone else’s next adventure...
