For this appointment, we used a combination of balayage and highlight placement to brighten her brunette while still keeping the color soft, seamless, and low-maintenance. Brunette balayage can be tricky on dense hair because it requires saturation, patience, and strategic sectioning, but when the placement is customized, the brightness falls exactly where you want it.

The last time I did her hair, we kept it soft with some light highlights… but this time she walked in with an inspo photo and said, “I’m ready for something impactful.”

So we created this dimensional brunette blend using a custom placement of balayage + strategic highlights to brighten her up while keeping everything seamless and low-maintenance. Long, thick hair like hers takes time, saturation, and patience — and she was AMAZING with the whole process.

And honestly… the transformation was worth every minute.

This sweet client came in with the most relatable curl struggle: her curls were feeling heavy and flat at the roots.

After a thorough consultation, I realized her curls needed a little bit of these two things: a cut that would bring back shape and movement and product education.

She has very fine curly hair, so using too much or the wrong products can easily stretch out the curl and make it feel heavy. We started with a clarifying wash and a treatment to remove buildup. For the cut, we trimmed a few inches, added long layers and soft face framing. It was important for her to keep length.

During her appointment, we focused on curl education: what products to use, how much, and how to apply them for her specific curl type. She left with her curls feeling light, bouncy, and healthy again. 💕
