Let's take a look at these locs. They are FLOURISHING! Now, I can't say that she'll keep them forever but what I DO know is that she was 💯 SURE about the choice.

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT! Even book an appointment until you're committed. I'm not talking logistics, but the LOC'd LIFE! It took me over 10 years and 2 states to make the choice.

Let's talk about the LINT in your locs. Yep I said it! Realize that the foundation, longevity and the ability to survive in some relationships is because of the structure that comes from things that NEVER should have been there but is now fundamentally a part of the ability to survive. EeeeYUCK!

Like a piece of lint in your locs, we never see the tiny strands weaving itself into the day to stay. We notice when it's big and white and ugly 🤮. Now, it's time to go! But wait...

You can NOT just go in with a tweezers and just sn**ch it out. No, you remove it, the loc crumbles.

You can't remove the lint from the loc without repair. You gotta put the work in.

No matter if the lint is trauma binding, toxic relationships, built in contingencies, or anything else that just should have never taken root. It's definitely a part of the girth behind how you're surviving. It's routine, it's stability, it's connection... But it should be there and it gotta go!

So what's next?! REPAIR! After you take out what never should have been, you replace it with new structure, you fill that void by pulling one end to the other and filling the gap... Or perhaps,
Cut that end off and slow build to a new you... I mean a new lock.

The key is to regularly assess the lint in your locs. Do what you can to protect yourself from the micro strands trying to weave its way in.. what's your bonnet in life?
At the end of the day, the lint can't stay... It only damages the longer it's there. You gotta put the work in. 💪🏾🔒☀️
