I have always wanted to Give Back to my community. I have lost a lot and gained a lot, which a lot of us have. Here's a little back story: My name is Briana and I am a Thirty-One Consultant. I was a stay at home mom for a few years to my 5 children, while their dad worked when there was work for him available. Unfortunately, we just couldn't keep up and lost our place we called home. By the Grace of God, our local Community Action was able to get our family of 8 (mom, dad, 1 teenager, and 5 children) into one of their Family Shelter Units. We moved in the day before Thanksgiving in 2018. The emotions as a parent were very overwhelming, feeling like a failure, embarrassed, and scared. Not to mention, battling Depression. And Anxiety on top of everything. As for my kids, they were excited because as small children (two 1 year olds, a 2 year old, 4 year old, and 5 year old) it was like a "mini vacation." It was something different, but they didn't understand the hardship that we as adults and parents were really going through. I know not all children feel this way, as I'm sure some are really scared and confused.

This is why I am doing "Sponsor a Cool Zip Pouch." As a parent that has sat in THAT chair, going through all the questions, signing papers, saving every receipt of all purchases to track where our money was going (yes, every purchase no matter what it was), while trying to stay strong for my kids, and search for rentals and hopeing a landlord will rent to someone with a recent eviction - it's really hard.

These cute pouches will be given to Lancaster-Fairfield County Community Action to give to these children. 😊 They will be filled with various age appropriate things like: playing cards, crayons, notepads, small toys, teething rings, kids toothbrushes/toothpaste, etc. There will also be various individually packaged snacks that will be donated with these outside of the pouches due to children having possible allergies. These are $10 each. This includes the Pouch, goodies to be purchased for inside, tax, and shipping costs. You can sponsor as many as you'd like as well. I will be collecting sponsors from now through May 28th.

I have also already spoken with Linda, the Administrator for the Family Shelter at Community Action to make sure that this is okay and she approved.

Also, for those of you struggling, regardless if it's financially, mentally, jobless, homeless, battling addiction, whatever it may be, just remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Things will get better and there is help out there! Stay positive and keep pushing. 💛

**I have also had some ask me if I will accept donations for things to go inside the pouches and the answer is yes.**

This school year is coming to an end, so there's no better way than saying, "Thank you" to your kid(s) teacher with Thirty-One! 😁
