Pride means something a little different to everyone.

For me, it’s about freedom.

Growing up, it wasn’t always easy being a gay man.
There were times when I questioned myself, worried about being accepted, and felt like I had to hide parts of who I was just to fit in.

When I was younger, I wasn’t sure what the future would look like for someone like me.
I never imagined that one day I would live in a time where I could legally marry the person I love.
And yet, here I am.

I get to share my life with my husband.
I get to love openly.
I get to be authentically myself.
That isn’t something I take for granted.

Over the years, I’ve learned that there is strength in authenticity, courage in vulnerability, and beauty in embracing exactly who you are.
Today, I’m proud to be a gay man. I’m proud of the journey that brought me here, the challenges that shaped me, and the life I’ve built by living my truth.

And I’m thankful to those who came before, those who had the courage to not hide in the shadows and pave the way for us today.
We can’t forget them, we owe those brave people everything.

To anyone who has ever felt different, unseen, or afraid to be themselves remember this:
