🗯️Fordyce granules are painless, light-colored formations on the skin in the form of small pimples.

Most often these granules form on the lips.

❗️They’re also called seborrheic cysts or sebaceous gland cysts. But, despite the name, the formation of Fordyce granules has nothing to do with seborrhea.

👆🏻Thankfully, these granules are only a cosmetic defect and are not dangerous to human health.

They are not contagious and are only a physiological feature of a person.

The reasons these bumps appear has not yet been identified. But, most often the formation is associated with a change in hormones during puberty.
