First day at Knockouts Lawton!!! I can’t believe I just graduated cosmetology school a week ago! 11 months ago I started school and now I’m a stylist!!!

Today was bittersweet. Miss Carol came in so I can try and replicate a hairstyle she loved when she was younger. She had the photo with her last time she came but there wasn’t enough time to do it. So today was her day! She was beyond thrilled with the outcome and even has tears in her eyes. It’s gonna be hard to leave amazing people like this but my time here is done. She is my last client and it couldn’t have ended a better way.

First haircut at Knockouts!!! I didn’t realize it was part of the job interview. I told them I’ve only had a few men’s cuts and hadn’t done one in a very long time. This is my Guinea pig Mitchell. He was easy going and funny. He told me not to stress out of get anxious and I replied “I’m not worried. No refunds 😂!” I don’t think he was ready for my quick wit humor but he was able to keep up 😂. Kirby helped me tons and this cut is 80% hers but she saw that I was willing to learn and 100% comfortable with people. I think I’m gonna love it there!

I had a job interview today and I got the job!!! I start next Tuesday!!!!

I only have 7 hours of cosmetology school left!!!!! I’m graduating next Saturday at 12:30!!! Everyone is invited 😘

Today the sweetest woman came for a pedicure. Her name is Miss Carol ♥️. We laughed and has a good time. When she was checking out she showed me a pic of when she was younger and how she wanted that haircut again. I told her I had the time to do it and she was pumped. It was hard for me to see the definition in the style but I tried my best. She told me that she’s asked for it several times before and it just didn’t work out. Well, today was her day to shine because I did it!!! She absolutely loved it. I told her I was graduating soon so she told her daughter to get my name and the name of the place I’m hopefully going to be working. She booked for an appointment in two weeks to get a roller set. I love days like this. She was a pure joy!

Oh and excuse that flat part in back. I didn’t scrunch it enough. I just used mousse and my blow dryer with the diffuser on to make her curls pop!

Elizabeth came back for more color. It faded so nicely from the first time I did it. She told me I could do what I want again but she loved the color path from before as well. We didn’t have a lot of colors to use since we’re short on supply so I just added a blue root and made a purple. It turned out so pretty. She loved it. My classmates even complimented it. This is my second time playing in fantasy colors and I love how it turned out. It blended so beautifully this time. Make sure you check out the last pic so you can see how happy she is.

The thing that has kept me the most busy in cosmo school is the roller set. These ladies love roller sets and I make them look good!!! Curls for weeks with little to know maintenance. They don’t need any extra heat on their hair or anything!!! This is Miss Delilah and she stays looking good!
