It’s SUCH a small world! While I was doing ‘s hair at KCFW this season we were chatting and realized I had done her hair about 17 years ago during the early years of me being the “hair lady” for ! we took this picture for you!

When I first started doing KCFW back in 2018, I came to work with designer . I formed friendships with models and loved seeing my sweet friends every season. Now all of those models have moved on, some getting married, some moving away, some modeling with professional contracts. Now I’ve realized I’m coming back every season because of the relationships I’m building with other artists. .hair.mogul is such an amazing friend, stylist, mentor, and sister in Christ. Love you, girl, and hope I get to work with you many more times.

Really hoping to do some more bridal type styles at KCFW this season. 🤞🏻

JUST ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A OR BREAK YOUR DAY! As we head into fashion week this weekend I’m sharing some photos I never posted. And telling some stories I never told. This one is from spring 2023. I’d just had a really rough week having badly injured my knee and my daughter getting 2nd degree burns. I was committed to showing up anyway. During show prep Friday I only was given 1 model (I’m used to 4-9) and then a model brought to me for touch ups was extremely rude to me. I’d never been treated that way before and was super discouraged. I cried on my new friend shoulder, called my close friend and prayed for a better Saturday. My only bright spot was being recognized by . I walked up to him and gave my ideas for accomplishing the looks for his models walking the next day and by the end of Friday he had supplies tucked into my kit. Saturday I was overjoyed to work with his models. He always has a large group and I have to say the most enthusiastic and positive group of people walking for him. But .dog is really who this post is about. At the end of the evening as we left Union Station she called out to me that (KCFW CEO who knew about the problem with the model but she didn’t) had asked “how Kayte was to work with.” She told me she said I treated them like they were all one of my daughters. 😭 That’s always been my desire is to make models feel cared for and designers see their vision come to life. What was my worst KCFW ever turned into an amazing KCFW with her kind words. 🥰. Thank you! 😘 And for all my brides, that’s how I want to make you feel, too! ❤️

So far this season has definitely been a different experience. Interested to see what the Saturday brings.

Space buns!! Lol. It was fun working with LOTS of designers all on the same night and having a variety of styles requested.
