Congratulations! Shannon “Boo” Jackson is an Omaha native recognized for her dedication to serving her community. After earning her barber’s license nearly ten years ago, she began using her skills to give back, offering free back-to-school haircuts for students and volunteering at local homeless shelters.

In 2019, the 31-year-old made history by opening Omaha’s first Black, woman-owned barbershop, Heavi Hitters. Since then, the business has expanded to a new location near 65th and Maple and continues to grow. The shop provides a wide range of services, including hair care, wigs, locs, makeup, tattoos, and more, creating a welcoming space for all.

Hairstylist Ayanna Carfield told KETV that clients often leave feeling transformed and uplifted. Stylist Latoria Neal shared that the shop’s success comes from the close-knit sisterhood among the team.
