Bad news for the vendors who stuck with Painted Tree despite the absolute chaos that the new corporate overlords unleashed last fall.

I terminated my booth lease at the end of my one year term in November. I never received payment for my sales in September, October or November AND they continued to charge my credit card for the lease every month since December!

I disputed the charges to my credit card and have received refunds from CapitalOne.

I emailed and filed support tickets, but never had any meaningful reply from Painted Tree.

While I'm out a few hundred bucks, I feel terrible for the thousands of vendors who invested everything into their shops at Painted Tree locations throughout the country. I am also sorry for the hardworking store staffers who are now out of work. I doubt they'll see their last paychecks.

Small businesses are the result of dreams that become real through lots of work, determination and a great product or service. Painted Tree vendors deserved much better! I hope the entire PT exec suite gets pulled into court!

Hallooooo friends! It's so nice to have some warmer weather and sunshine! Although, I'm a Nebraska native and know this is like a false summit - we will have more cold before spring truly unpacks her bags to stay for awhile.

I had a wonderful time seeing my customers and friends (same thing!) at the Cupid's Arrow Market in February. I don't currently have any markets on the calendar because I'm going on a hike later this month. Speaking of hiking... Silky Mermaid Healing Salve is a godsend for preventing blisters. I apply a thin layer to my toes and heels before putting on my socks. No covering, since the socks are going to get dirty anyway. Blisters are caused by heat, moisture and friction and the layer of healing salve keeps moisture and friction out of the equation for blister-free walking, mile after mile!
