Fade Away Nebraska
Nebraska's Laser Tattoo Removal + Revision Experts
Lose a tattoo? We may know why!
Here at Fade Away, client education is our priority, so let’s talk possible side effects of laser tattoo removal.
Redness and Swelling: Inflammation is very common, often lasting a few days after treatment.
Blistering and Scabbing: While we do everything we can to avoid this reaction, these are normal responses that can appear shortly after the session as the skin heals.
Itching: A common sign that the immune system is working to remove ink.
Frosting: A temporary white layer on the skin surface due to carbon dioxide release.
Pin-point Bleeding: Possible in some patients, especially when using higher laser settings, usually resolving within a few days.
Rare or Long-Term Risks Include
Hyperpigmentation: The treated area becomes darker than the surrounding skin, more common in darker skin tones, but usually fades within 6–12 months.
Hypopigmentation: The treated area appears lighter than the surrounding skin, often caused by sun exposure during the healing process.
Scarring: Unlikely, appearing in less than 2% of patients.
Infection: Risk increases if blistering skin is not properly cared for with cleaning and ointment.
Color Changes: Certain tattoo colors may paradoxically turn black instantly, which requires additional sessions.
Side Effect Mitigation and Care
Sun Protection: Always apply sunscreen (SPF 25+) to prevent long-term skin discoloration.
Avoid Picking: Do not pick at scabs or blisters to avoid scarring or infection.
Keep Area Clean: Wash with antibacterial soap and keep the area covered with a bandage for up to a week.
Avoid Irritation: Avoid hot water, swimming, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours post-treatment.

Start your week out right with a FREE laser tattoo removal consultation with your friendly neighborhood laser techs, Heather and Nina!
Here at Fade Away our goal is for you to see results.
Here is the reality:
When we say it takes multiple sessions, it’s unfortunate but it does.
You may not see results until after the 3rd or 4th session, but don’t get discouraged because we can assure you that we as your laser techs do.
Remember this is an immunoresponse. The lasers job is to just help break the ink into smaller particles, so your body can discard the ink.
If there is scarring from the artist going too deep then it can make it harder to clear!
You can always take Zinc, Vitamin C and D to Boost your immune system.
We are here to help, if you have questions or concerns please contact the laser tech team via the square app.
Sincerely The Fade Away Team
🔬 Ever wondered how laser tattoo removal actually works? Here's what happens during every session:
✅ STEP 1 — The Consultation
Before anything, we assess your tattoo's size, ink colors, skin type, and location. Every removal journey is different, and we tailor a plan just for you.
✅ STEP 2 — Preparing the Skin
On the day of your session, ice packs are applied to the skin to help minimize discomfort and prepare the area for treatment.
✅ STEP 3 — The Laser Does Its Work
We use a specialized laser that emits concentrated pulses of light. These pulses pe*****te the skin and break the tattoo ink into tiny particles — without damaging the surrounding skin.
✅ STEP 4 — Your Body Takes Over
Once the ink is fragmented, your immune system naturally flushes those particles away over the following weeks. This is why results appear gradually between sessions.
✅ STEP 5 — Aftercare (minimal)
We'll guide you through the aftercare we recommend as there is no opening in the skin— keep the are well moisturized, and protected from sun exposure is key to a smooth recovery and great results.
⏳ Most clients need multiple sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart for full removal. Factors like ink color, tattoo age, and skin tone all play a role in the timeline.

Get to know Nina, your friendly neighborhood laser tech, with a little Q&A!
Q: What brought you to Fade Away?
A: I first came to Fade Away as a client. I had a tattoo that was a constant reminder of a very traumatic time in my life. Watching that tattoo disappear was a huge part of my healing process.
Q: What made you want to become a tech?
A: I had been a massage therapist for 15 years, but was in a car accident in 2024 that ended my career. During my recovery I knew I wanted to still work in my community helping others on their healing journey. Knowing how good it feels to be able to reclaim your body and rewrite your story was the reason I decided to join the team at Fade Away.
Q: What is your goal at Fade Away?
A: My goal is to treat each person who walks thru the door with dignity and compassion. Having a tattoo removed is a deeply personal decision, and I’m honored to be able to assist in the process.
