Social media has a funny way of making it seem like everyone is fully booked, growing nonstop, and living in a constant highlight reel.

The truth? Right now, things are slower than normal for us, and if I’m being honest, that’s scary.

There are so many talented estheticians out there. New trends pop up every day. TikTok is constantly telling us what’s “in” and what’s “out.” And I’ve said it a million times—I don’t always fit into that world. Maybe I’m a little old school. Maybe I’m not the trendiest person on the internet.

But what I do know is that I care deeply about what I’ve built.

I care about every client who walks through our doors. I care about my team. I care about creating a warm, welcoming place where people feel comfortable, cared for, and confident.

The funny thing is, if you walked into True Skin today, you’d never know. The candles are lit. The rooms are ready. My team is showing up. We’re still giving every client our absolute best. That’s what small business owners do—we keep showing up, even when we’re scared.

Running a small business isn’t always beautiful. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes the schedule isn’t as full as you’d hoped. Sometimes you question everything.

This is one of those seasons for me.

But even in the uncertainty, I am incredibly grateful. Grateful for the loyal clients who continue to support us. Grateful for the team that shows up every day. Grateful for every appointment booked, every referral sent, every kind word shared.
