We’re doubling down on the coffee in the salon this morning!

Reminder! If you haven’t booked a holiday appointment with your stylist, please do so! Our books fill up fast this time of year 🥰

If you have attempted to call or message and have not received a response, please message me here and I will call you personally. I’m in the process of switching booking sites and salon phone numbers and it hasn’t been a smooth operation.

🖤I posted this when I opened but there are more faces coming into the salon now so I thought I would repost where our salon name originated🖤

I’ve been asked lots of questions about the name of my salon, Copper & Quill Studios.
I will do my best to explain in not too many words.

Historically, copper was utilized in the production of many beauty industry things including makeup, hairpins, and mirrors. It is said to have healing properties and is essential to human health. Copper is often considered a symbol of prosperity & success.
In addition to those things, “copper” happens to be my personal favorite (and the most uncommon) hair color.

Quills and feathers were used symbolically to represent spirituality, honor, and wisdom. They have been used to adorn the head for centuries be it with feather embellished hats or skillfully crafted headdresses. Quills, the hollow main feathers of a large bird, were also used as writing pens; sharpened and dipped in ink. If you know me well, you know that writing is also a passion of mine. Initially, I had planned to go into business alongside my brother who would’ve been the perfect “Quill” with his amazing tattooing talents. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control prevented that for now; but the quill remains an important part of my own story.

Last, but not least, Copper & Quill is a nod to my Irish and Native heritage; to the fair skinned and often copper haired and the valiant, golden skinned & feather adorned first-comers. It’s my honor to welcome you into the salon!
