Police were called to a domestic incident around 9 a.m. near East 86th Street and Avenue B, where they found an armed man who was reportedly violating a protection order... The 28-year-old suspect, who was armed with a gun, fled on foot and was pursued by officers.During the pursuit, an officer fired a shot that struck the suspect in the chest on Coventry Road. A witness reported hearing an officer shout "Drop the weapon!" immediately before hearing a gunshot.
