Alfred is the oldest person that I have ever had the pleasure of cutting. He celebrated his 100th birthday last month!
He says it's just luck - I think it's his positive outlook on life that keeps him rolling everyday. 💗

This is Rex. He's my oldest client at 91 years old. 👴🏼

The first time he came to Deluxe, he casually showed up at the door with his walker during a snow storm. He just decided to take the bus and a walk downtown to find himself a haircut that day. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I ushered him inside, wrapped his hands in hot towels and I've had the honor of taking care of him ever since.❤️

Teresa will be working Susan's schedule as is until we get through all of the pre-bookings. Depending on how recovery goes, adjustments to the schedule may occur in the future.

We've been through this before and came out the other side stronger than ever, but get well cards seem to have a profound effect on the healing process. 😉❤️

Mom and I were out of town this past week on vacation. I received many emails, text messages and calls from folks who were worried that we had changed our phone number or had gone out of business. 😆

We are very much still here in Longmont and are back to working 6 days a week now. The books are kinda crazy right now but if you are looking for a haircut please give me a call and I will save you a seat in the rotation. 👍🏼

The journey of our NEW Deluxe Barbers ❤️
We were lucky enough to find this little suite just a half a block away from where we've been operating for the last 13 years.

It is located at 515 Main Street with access from both Main Street and the 500 block breezeway. We are now tucked between the Longmont Theater and Dryland Distillery.

We actually rented it last November (2022) - the week before mom broke her wrist. We knew retirement was coming and we needed to make a plan. Mom breaking her wrist was not part of the plan...but it was a good test run of what Susan's retirement would look like for us both.

In May, a hail storm compromised our roof. We had water come into our common areas and our unit. Our new landlord wasted no time in mitigating the damage. The roof was replaced and all water damage was repaired. But again, it was probably the best thing that could have happened to us.

After the water, we decided to go all in. There was some old cabinetry that needed to be removed and replaced... And if we were going to pull countertops and cabinets, we might as well put in new sinks... And if we're going to build cabinets, we might as well build one for my refrigerators.... And if we're going to make new cabinets and countertops, we might as well put in new floor.... And if we're going to put in a new floor, we might as well finish painting the ceiling.

Well, you can see how things kind of snowballed.....🤷🏼‍♀️

On December 3rd, we invited clients to come by and take a look at what we've been working on for more than a year. The response has been so overwhelmingly positive! ❤️

We know it can be hard when things change and moving from our old location is definitely bittersweet for all of us. We have seen an enormous amount of change in Longmont over the last 13 years and we recognize that we need to change with it.

Our new location is still tucked into the heart of downtown and we've created a NEW DELUXE for a new decade. We are so excited to share it with all of you!

💈Recently installed crosswalk lights right outside our door means that you can park easily on the East side of Main Street as well.
