The students ( I couldn't fit all of them in the cropped video) were so open and willing to learn, be uncomfortable in new movement, and receive what I had to offer as a teacher. I have learned 10 fold more through the past two years about the capibility of our bodies, the vital importance of mobility training coupled with dance training and that no matter your age or stage you can continue to learn, move, and amaze yourself with what your body can achieve if you respect the progressions. Thank you to my mentor for not only being my creative mentor but he is also one of my best friends. I will be teaching again once I find the space that suits my practice best very soon. I have had so many requests to teach my approach to breaking and I am excited to abound classes once my schedule allows!

You can see me push out and up into a straightline handstand from a bit of a banana position.. although it still isn't quite straight... it helps to record because I'll feel like I'm straight and then see myself like..... uhhh nope! Getting there takes persistence, practice, correcting, over and over.. Ill be upside Down most of 2022 I believe!

What an extraordinary adventure! Those are the words I have been saying to myself during this period of time where we all have been forced to pause. In the beginning, I was anxious, angry, terrified about when I would be back to work. I wanted back to my life routine IMMEDIATELY. The reality was our lives were shut down and I had to face the truth of accepting that "Normal" would most likely not happen again for any of us. The world has changed, our priorities have changed, the perspective of health has changed. This precious time in our lives has changed who we once were into how we will proceed and "be" for a great while, if not forever.
My Dear Clients, who I have known to be some of my most cherished and respected friends. You have shared aspects of yourselves, your lives, your families, hopes, and fears with me in my chair and for that, I am the luckiest of all humans. I have had two careers in my life. Dance and Hair. Both have been valuable in all their lessons I have learned. Hair has been the most touching for me because I have had the opportunity to connect one on one with each one of you and for me, nothing beats that value.
This Pause I have experienced through the Quarantine has brought to life the meaning and importance of being with my family, the need for my presence in theirs in a much more mindful way instead of rushing through my life trying to attain attain attain. I never in a million years thought a life/career change would happen now but who would have thought we would have a pandemic that would ultimately force us to reconsider our entire way of being and existing in the world.
That being said I would like to officially say I truly have appreciated and loved every second with you as a client and as a friend who has helped support me as a Hairstylist. What an honor to have known you ALL! I will no longer see you in my chair but that does not mean I will not be a part of your lives as a force if you choose to receive updates/emails/Youtube tutorials from me. Yes, I will still be there to post what is in/out for hairstyles/fashion and show easy ways to do your hair on my social media platforms.
So this is not Goodbye it's just a new Hello. It is time to now take a bow to my behind the chair experience as a Hairstylist. I will be in touch with all those who have made appointments and can refer you to other stylists who I believe would be perfect for you.

Dear clients, I know this time we are all in has been quite challenging and stressful for us. I have chosen to honor the life pause and extend the opening to doing your hair until Thursday, May 14.
I think the re-opening for Salons was very pre-emptive and knowing what I know from my sister working in the ER at UC health we are not, at all, in the clear. I will not put any of you at any risk until we see the results of this early opening on April 27th that Governor Polis mandated. The hospitals are still seeing multiple new cases every day and I am choosing to be more conservative in this situation. That being said- I do hope you can hold on just 2 more weeks to see me. I am just as anxious to get back to work and back to life as all of you. My hair is in dire need of help also!
I hope you have been finding healthy ways to be in this space we have all been given. I know many of you have been inquiring about scheduling appointments but at this time I am truly not comfortable encouraging any of you to not continue practicing safe social distancing and unfortunately my arms are not 6 feet long. 😊 You will be able to schedule appointments both online and with me for the week of May 11th. ( First available slots start Thursday, May 14th)
This is a time to let the hair grow, enjoy the newness of the experience, and trust that you will be in my chair again and we will play and create something fabulous with what you have grown.
I love you all and encourage you to please stay home and continue be smart. Regardless of what orders may be lifted, it is important for each of us to make our own personal decisions, and mine is to stay home and be safe both for the safety of my family and for you my friends.
I know this is frustrating news to those who have appointments coming up and I do hope you can hold on for 2 more weeks while we stay safe and navigate through this very awkward time together.

Jules How To Videos, Spring Trends, Get on the books!
Hello, my glorious friends. How are you hanging in there during this period of quarantine? I know roots are growing, haircuts are shaggy, and the need to get back to "normal" is common with all of us. I recently saw an article that box color is flying off the shelves! ACK! I encourage you to embrace this time of challenge with open arms and ROOTS. I can assure you the cost of fixing box color is exponentially higher than that box not to mention the damage it can do due to the peroxide etc. I will never shame anyone for box color but I do warn you that it's just not worth it.
That being said! I have started creating some online tutorials and material to help you learn different things about hair. Styling, at home bang trims, men's grooming and much more!
