Over the years, we’ve been transitioning this client away from a traditional root color and into soft, dimensional highlights for a more seamless, low maintenance grow out.

She’s also a little special to me because she was one of my very first hair extension clients back in 2016. Her hair has always had the length, but she wanted a little more fullness and dimension.

Ever heard of a base break? ✨

Even after a heavy highlight, a darker natural base can keep your blonde from feeling as bright as you want. A base break softly lifts your natural color just enough to brighten everything up without the harsh lift of traditional highlights.

The best part? No bleach on the scalp and only about 10 extra minutes at the bowl to give you that brighter, more blended blonde look 🤍

It’s also the perfect in between service when you’re not quite ready for a full highlight touch up, but your roots are making you feel less blonde than you’d like!

We did a full color remover, followed by heavy highlights, an all-over color in between, and finished with a root smudge + tone. There’s still the tiniest bit of warmth left through the mids, but I’ll choose healthy hair over over-processing every single time 🩷
