Music has always been an interesting subject when it comes to health and wellbeing. While the effects of music are still not properly understood, research has indicated that music has positive effects on mood. Listening to music releases dopamine – a chemical that improves mood and reduces anxiety and stress. Moreover, listening to music that we like also help improve cognition and memory and enable us to exercise better.

It is very important to keep ourselves well hydrated throughout the day. Drinking less water causes our kidneys to work much harder and this can be very harmful in the long run. We must ensure to drink at least 2L of water every day. While we should definitely stay hydrated throughout the day, we should also look to hydrate our body first thing in the morning. Before we eat anything, hydrate our body with warm water or lime water. Not only will this freshen up, but it will also help support our gut and kidneys. Also, hydrating our body in the morning will also help flush toxins and improve our skin.

Sleeping well is another way to maintain a proper and healthy lifestyle. There are several drawbacks to skimping out on sleep as well as oversleeping. Research studies have pointed out that we need 7-8 hours of sleep every night to stay healthy. People who sleep only 6 hours every night are at a 23% higher risk of developing obesity. On the other hand, people who sleep for more than 9 hours are at a higher risk of developing metabolic problems and heart diseases. Make sure to maintain a proper sleep schedule. Listening to meditative music and having some chamomile tea before going to sleep. This will help us to gently relax into our sleep and help us to sleep better. Sleeping well will increase our energy levels and also keep you in a fresh mood all day.

One of the easiest ways to maintain our health and wellbeing is by eating healthy. People who don’t have the time or don’t take effort for healthy eating will soon face health problems. Studies have demonstrated that 70-80% of staying healthy is all about eating the right food at the right time. To eat healthy, add more fruits and green vegetables to our diet. Fruits and leafy green vegetables are a wonderful source of natural fibers, minerals and vitamins. We can choose to add a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to our meals – it’s both easy as well as delicious.
