Confusion around Collagen Supplements:

Currently there are only 3 brands I trust for BEAUTY specifically.

You see, there are different types…and they function differently in various areas of the body.

Starting on our 30’s, collagen declines naturally.

Add sugar, alcohol, sees oils, heavy metals that attack our natural collagen…it’ll accelerate the process.

Here’s what you need to know:

💎 Type 1 collagen makes up 85-90% of your skin's collagen. Only around 15% is type 3. So the type of collagen matters.

💎 Sourcing: Wild Caught fish like Red Snapper from clean Scandanavian waters, processed according to EU standards OR pastured raised, grass/ veggie fed cows from New Zealand or Germany.

💎 Dosage and Delivery System: If no patented delivery system, then 10 grams...but for formulas with a patented delivery system and clinical studies to show higher absorption, 5 grams per dose is fine.

I prefer formulas that have a biostimulatory effect to stimulate our own type 1 collagen production. 🧬

🌼 Blends with amino acids like Lutein, which comes from marigold extract will help to break up free radical damage in the skin for those with melasma and pigmentation.

💧 Liquid versus Powder: Liquid is closest to its original form. Once you hydro luxe, crystallize, or powder the formula…then you have to add water to deactivate.

I have a brand that offers BOTH liquid and powder. The powder is cheaper, but my clients and colleagues that switched for a cost savings report that their skin is simply not as hydrated, dewy, and glowy as it is with the liquid formula. 🌞

So there you have it…

It’s not that all other brands are bad…they simply may be more ideal for gut heath or bones and joints. 🦴 🦶

It’s not just about blending quality ingredients together either. It’s about absorption and uptake. So I opt for formulas that are heavily tested and have published peer reviewed clinical trials to prove efficacy.

If you have tried collagen supplements and saw very little results in your skin, the above mentioned reasons may be why.

If you are taking a collagen supplement that is a Thpe 3 collagen…and that only makes up 10-15% of your skins collagen…then you are only going to have a minimal improvement in the appearance of your skin.

My prediction for year is this:

Especially for women who start very young in their 20’s and 30’s, thinking they are “being preventative”…

When the day comes they realize they were sold a bill of goods…

Once they actually start showing signs of aging…

Yet they’ve passed the point of no return and they’ve lost their natural appearance…

We are going to see a whole new wave of depression and anxiety.

And for the injectors that dont have the skill and artistic eye to perform corrective work and restore someone’s natural appearance…

They will be flushed out because they banked their entire business on this dying trend.

✨ I AM TAKING A SABBATICAL FROM MY CLINICAL PRACTICE! ✨

This week in honor of my birthday, I wanted to share some big news.

After 25 years in Orlando, I have decided to take a sabbatical from my clinical practice starting July 15th during the slow season when most clients are busy vacationing with their families.

This will allow me some much needed time with family and to redesign my life and business, while I pursue my dream of becoming a seasonal resident and search for my next home out of state.

But don’t worry, I will return in the Fall season, just in time to finalize my daughter’s wedding plans and I will open my calendar to once again see clients before the holidays.

In the meantime, I will be accepting appointments prior to my departure, and I will soon announce my return date and fall booking availability.

While I am out of town, I will still be available for virtual consultations and to support you with your at-home Health & Beauty regimen. (More details coming soon!)
