I was
I was President for a long time
I had my “clean”, healthy food bubble that I tried to live in
While eating healthy nutritious foods most of the time is what we all want to aim for, not allowing anything else in your diet is not sustainable and can cause a lot of issues

I was that person who always turned down the piece of birthday cake at the office celebration
I sat there and watched everyone else in the room have a piece of cake.
I told them I was “too full”, or just said a polite “no thank you”
And I was praised for being disciplined and strong.
And that praise validated what I was doing
It must be a good thing if everyone thinks I’m disciplined and strong, right?
But what they all didn’t realize was how much I wanted a piece of cake.
I wanted to be able to freely enjoy a slice of chocolate cake with everyone else
But I couldn’t.
Because I was afraid
I was afraid that piece of cake would ruin EVERYTHING.
My progress would be gone I would automatically get fat
Sounds a little crazy, right? Say it out loud and it sounds even crazier
But that’s where I was at, and where I see so many of you are at
Look, the reality is that eating healthy nutritious food most of the time is a goal for all of us.
But confining yourself to only those foods is not realistic
Eating clean can be great, but if it’s all you allow yourself to do, it’s prison.
And that is no way to live
How do you get out of that prison?
With practice.
Having conversations with yourself, shutting up those voices that are trying to scare you
Rinse and repeat
It’s not easy, but it is doable
Enjoy the cupcake. You will be ok
