Lighting affects the appearance of color! These four photos were all taken yesterday! Different times, different lighting, they all look slightly different and yet it’s all the same hair! You might’ve had your hair done in the past and noticed the same thing. You brought in a vibrant bright inspo photo, and while you see that bright color in some lights, you don’t in others. Why is that? Lighting. Lighting. Lighting! ☀️

It’s so easy to bring in a photo of these beautiful vibrant colors and expect to see that on your head whether you’re out in the sun or in a darker room but the light is always going to alter the appearance of color!

If you’re out in the sun, your hair is always going to appear more bright and vibrant where as indoor lighting can give your hair a darker sometimes cooler, deeper appearance!

The angle of the lighting plays a part too! Direct light may emphasize lighter tones while shadows can create depth and appear darker.

Keep this in mind when you send your stylist inspo photos! It’s always helpful to have an expectation of how certain things will play a part in how your hair looks and to remember how beautiful it can be in any and all lighting!!
