There is a simple answer, yet a little more complicated than simple. The difference in each of these is in how the therapist approaches working with different age groups. The therapist must take in to account the physiological, developmental, and sometimes even the psychological differences of each client.

It’s all understanding that kids and adults systems are different and therefore how you work with each age group must also also be different to not cause harm.

Think of a pediatrician or a pediatric dentist. Both of these professionals are specially trained to work with kids and approach them sensitively. Same here!

✨ If your child is having pain, I am happy to help. Call to schedule and appointment or send me a message and I can answer any questions you have.

Hi families, I need 5 parents who want to bond with their babies and whose babies are in emotional/physical pain and are willing to test run a new group infant massage class I'll soon be offering. Do you know anyone??

I'm specifically looking for 5 new parents who want to bond with their babies (3 weeks to 1 year old), and whose babies are currently struggling with colic, constipation, tummy discomfort, or are having trouble sleeping. Parents must be willing to give me very specific feedback and come to the class location in Encino, CA for 3 consecutive Tuesdays, starting on March 1st, to participate in a group infant massage workshop (5 participants).

This 3-class series workshop is normally $135 but I'm offering it at $95 ($40 off) for people who are willing to help me refine it.

If you or someone you know meets the criteria, please contact me ASAP - Victoria Rivera, CMT on my cell at (818) 252-9529 to purchase your workshop. Please share with anyone else who fits this description!

Thank You!

So many parents, especially first-time parents and dads, can feel totally lost when it comes to taking care of their baby. Some parents don’t have any experience with interacting with a baby so they don’t know how to play with or talk to their little one and they just need someone to show them how.

If you’re a new parent and this sounds anything like what you’re experiencing, massaging your baby can help. Overtime, you’ll begin to feel more connected with your baby and your intuition will take the lead. You’ll begin to trust yourself and your confidence as a parent will grow 🌱✨

Teach your kids body boundaries. It builds self-confidence and teaches them that it’s ok to say no when physical contact feels unsafe or painful.

Before I begin to work child I first make sure that they understand what massage is and what it’s for. We talk about areas that are safe to massage and teach them that they can say no at anytime. We practice saying, “no,” “please stop,” “that hurts”, as well as, “that feels nice” so that they always have full control of their session.

This technique also works for adults too! Have you ever experienced a massage that was so painful and uncomfortable that you just sat through because you didn’t know how to get out of it? I’ve been there too! 😣

So what can we do about this? We make it ok for you to speak up. After all, you know your body more than anyone else. If you need help practicing your body boundary muscle before a massage, I can help 💕

✨Check out tips on how to teach your child better body boundaries by in the second slide.
