The question I have received the most over the last few weeks is whether to get tested for new sniffles, coughs, fevers etc.
There are no easy answers to this questions and it often comes down to personal choice. Here are some of my thoughts.
The most common question I am getting these days is about cv tests and whether you should get one for every sniffle, cold, fever. Here are my thoughts.

👨🏻⚕️🐊 Is your baby food toxic?? Did you receive my latest newsletter on the terrifying report on and in ???
If not, click on the link in my bio or go to IntegrativePediatrics.com to sign up.
Here are some highlights of my thoughts on the article:
· can be found naturally in foods. Not all metal is bad.
· We can’t avoid all metal. The goal is to reduce our toxic heavy metal exposure as much as possible within reason.
· This is definitely concerning information, but is likely not a new problem or a problem limited to a few brands
Please advocate for strong to protect all children!
What can you do?
· Control what you can control.
· Feed your family more fruits and vegetables.
· .
· Cook your own food.
· Make your own baby food.
· Read all labels
· Assume, if a food is , in a box or package, there are chemicals you don’t want your kids eating.
· Purchase a chemical testing lab and before feeding your child, get the food you buy thoroughly tested (Kidding!! Just seeing if you are still paying attention. That would be nice though right haha!)
· Limit the amount of rice cereal products and products where research has shown there to be high levels of metals.
· Look for labelling that explicitly states “low in chemical/metal X”
· Eat . Period!
· Consider a family .
Look, I understand that it takes longer to make your own food and we are all exhausted. But the reality is, our children’s health depends on the food we feed them

👨🏻⚕️🐊 Has your banged their head lately? It seems we have become more of a bumper for Eli these days. For some reason, his head loves to find every corner. This was a particularly good where his head found the edge of the window.
One of the most common calls/texts I receive from parents is about after falls. often feel like they are the in the world. "How could I let my child get a big welt on their head?"
"Is their brain damage?"
Some of these thoughts may run through your head if this happens to your child. When (not if) this happens to your child, take a deep breath and remember, even Pediatrician's children get bumps on their head as well.
Kids are tough and resilient and almost never have any long term issues after a . They may have a little bump and and shed a few tears, but otherwise, they are generally fine.
Of course, if ever concerned, get seen at your or the ED. If you go to the ED, generally, your main concern would be internal bleeding and that you would want a CT scan done. The risk of internal bleeding is really small. You usually need a great force like a fall out of a window or a car crash.
Concerning symptoms to look for include acting odd, wobbly gait, persistent vomiting, lethargy, etc.
Generally, there is not a lot you need to do for treatment. Rest and pain control would be your focus. You can apply some ice (if they let you), , , and pain relievers.
PS Only 1 child was hurt in the making of this post haha. This happened a few weeks ago and he is totally better now.

🤷♂️🐊 With the pandemic continuing to rage, it is easy to forget that there are many important prevention and Saftey strategies we need to consider for keeping our family’s healthy.
As an urban planner in 🇨🇦 my sister, spoke with CAA about some important road Saftey improvements she has been working on to keep kids and pedestrians safe.
She has worked to increase bicycle lanes, increase barricades and slow down motor vehicles. This doesn’t just protect our kids, but it also fosters healthy habits.
Pedestrian injuries are one of the leading causes of death in children so talking to your kids about safe walking practices can be vital to saving a life.
