i haven’t been as active on here lately, which feels strange to say because behind the scenes i’ve been incredibly busy.
for a long time i’ve tied a lot of my sense of progress to how consistent i am on social, how often i’m posting, how present i feel on here. so when that slows down, it can feel like i’m not doing enough or not showing up the way i should be.
but then i look at what’s actually happening day to day. my books are full, most of my clients come through referrals, and so many of you i’ve been seeing for years now.
and it really just brings me back to how grateful i am. the support, the trust, the loyalty… it doesn’t go unnoticed. social media is one version of things, but it’s not the whole picture.
so if you’ve ever sat in my chair, sent someone my way, or continue to come back to me, thank you. it means a lot more than i probably say on here.

If you are trying to decide between nano and microblading, you are probably asking the wrong question.
It is not about which one looks better the day of your appointment. It is about how you want your brows to heal, age, and live on your face over time.
This is not just a technical difference. It should directly influence what you choose. Most people pick a service based on what looks best in photos, but what you should really be thinking about is how you want your brows to exist on your face long term.
Nano and microblading heal differently, age differently, and require different levels of commitment. Nano softens more over time, giving you that airy, diffused finish that feels lighter and more flexible as your preferences evolve. Microblading holds more structure and saturation, which creates a more defined and consistent look as it heals and settles.
Neither is better, they just create different outcomes. The real question is not which one looks better today, but how much structure you want to live with every day, how soft you want your brows to feel over time, and how often you are willing to maintain them.
Your answers to those questions should guide the technique, the color, and the overall approach, because this is not just a one day result, it is a long term relationship with your brows.

A quick update for anyone planning ahead.
May is almost fully booked and availability is very limited.
I will be in New York from April 29th to May 1st for a short pop up. That schedule is already full, but I am planning to return in September.
If you are unsure what to book, there is now an “artist’s choice” option. This allows me to allocate the proper time and choose the technique that will give you the best result.
For anyone with existing or old pigment, including previous work done by me, there are some great options available. Send me a DM and I can guide you in the right direction.

This client drove all the way from Arizona to see me and I don’t take that lightly.
I have a lot of clients who travel in from out of state and it means a lot that you trust me enough to make a trip out of it. I know it takes planning, time, and intention, so I always try to make the experience as seamless and worth it as possible.
If you’re coming in from out of state, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Plan to stay at least a day or two after your appointment if you can. It gives your skin time to settle and allows us to address anything in person if needed.
Come in with your brows grown out as much as possible. The more natural hair I have to work with, the better I can build something that actually belongs to you.
Avoid scheduling anything intense right after. Give yourself a little space to heal and relax.
And most importantly, trust the process. The goal is always something that feels natural, balanced, and truly yours.
For those of you who travel to see me, I appreciate you more than you know.

A lot of you have been asking what a nano and microblading combination actually looks like once it’s healed, so here is a perfect example.
The reason I combine both techniques is simple. I am not trying to create a flat tattoo. I am trying to create dimension.
Microblading gives me structure and spacing. Those strokes sit slightly deeper and hold their presence over time, which creates the foundation of the brow. On its own, it can sometimes read a bit uniform if everything heals at the same saturation.
This is where nano comes in.
The nano strokes are placed in between the microbladed strokes, sitting a bit more superficially in the skin. Over time, they soften and diffuse faster, which creates a natural variation in saturation. Some strokes stay more defined, others fade slightly into the background.
That difference is what creates the forward and back effect. The brow no longer reads as one flat layer. It has depth, movement, and a more believable texture.
It also allows me to keep proper spacing. Instead of overpacking the brow for immediate fullness, I can build density in a way that ages well. The microblading holds the structure long term, while the nano fills in just enough to create fullness without sacrificing longevity.
The goal is always the same.
Brows that look dimensional, soft, and real even after they are fully healed.

Most people think aging shows up in the skin first. It doesn’t. It shows up in the brows.
Over time, brow hair thins, the tail starts to disappear, and the overall structure softens. When that framework fades, the entire eye area can begin to look tired or less defined, even if the skin itself is healthy.
This is why restoring the brow is one of the most powerful ways to bring balance back to the face.
In this case, the goal was not to create a dramatic change. It was to restore the architecture that time slowly softened. We rebuilt the shape, reinforced the tail, and added soft density where natural growth had faded. The result lifts the eye area, frames the face again, and brings back the kind of definition that reads as youthful without looking artificial.
Great brow work is rarely about adding more.
It is about restoring what once naturally existed.
Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.

There is an art to knowing when to do less.
When someone already has beautiful brows, the goal is not to reinvent them. It becomes an exercise in restraint and precise placement. Every stroke has to earn its place so the result supports what is already there instead of overpowering it.
The main focus here was the tail. His fronts already have strong natural density, so the challenge was creating balance as the brow moved outward. I purposely kept the frontal strokes spaced slightly further apart to respect the natural airiness of the hair growth. As the brow transitions toward the tail, the spacing gradually closes so the density visually matches and the entire brow feels cohesive.
Small decisions like this are what keep the result nuanced. The goal is always to enhance what makes the brow great in the first place, not compete with it.

We kept his brow slash exactly as it is. It is part of his look and it should stay that way. I rebuilt the structure around it, added natural density, and kept everything feeling intentional and true to him.

HOT TAKE INCOMING:
I respect hyperrealism(nano). I admire the discipline, the precision, the artistry behind it. I also think the over complexity and the obsession with pattern building has become more about stroking the artist’s ego than serving the client.
Clients care, but not in the way artists think they do. They are not studying stroke maps. They are not zooming in to critique your pattern theory. They want brows that feel light, airy, undetectable, and wearable. They want to look in the mirror every day and still recognize themselves.
The problem in our industry is that artists are so busy flexing for other artists that they forget who they are actually creating for. Technique debates get louder than the client’s voice. When that happens, you are not educating your client, you are isolating them.
If you truly deliver for your clients, you do not need to shout from the top of a mountain about what everyone should or should not be doing.
The work speaks. The client’s confidence speaks. The healed result speaks.
Everything else is noise.

A lot of you come in wanting brows that look full without losing that soft, real-hair texture. This is exactly how we get there. The microblading gives us structure and intentional spacing - not overcrowded, not packed in.. just the right amount of “support” for the shape.
Then the nano strokes layered in between bring that gentle movement. Because they sit higher in the skin, they fade a little sooner, which actually works in our favor. The two different saturations create a natural forward/back effect, the same kind you see in real brows when the light hits them.
It’s one of those things you don’t always have the language for as a client, but you feel it when you see it: fuller without looking heavy, dimensional without looking drawn on.
That’s why I keep coming back to this combo - it just translates beautifully in real life.
