2016, because why not? 🙄

2016 was the year I discovered online makeup contests and my friends would help me shoot my crazy ideas.

I would spend hours playing around, editing videos that would never see the light of day. Nothing has changed.

2025 started hella scary.

The LA fires weren’t just a canceled premiere, they were intense and sad. The city I love was hurting. Going back to work, or show up online after that? Honestly, hard.

But life goes on.
Friends made me laugh when I didn’t feel like it.
Hikes and trips reminded me I could actually breathe and slow down for a second. Having always by my side.

Work was a lot, but I’m grateful. I joined the Television Academy, judged the Daytime Emmy’s, attended red carpets, worked the first ever Fan Fest at ,worked with amazing brands, and somehow survived.

Learned a ton from my mentor too, mostly how to keep your head when everything feels overwhelming.

Even found time for little wins I never would’ve expected... like going to Disneyland more than once in a year (and actually meeting Mando and Grogu).

This, is only part one of my 2025 belated recap. Because I got overwhelmed, compared myself to everyone else posting theirs, and convinced myself mine wasn’t “enough” to share.
Then I remembered I have free will and I just want to post and share more of my journey here regardless.

So I’m posting this as a reminder that not every recap has to look perfect to be real.

FYC - For Your Consideration ⭐️ Best Makeup for Commercials & Music Videos : SILENT HILL f.

A combination of clean character makeup, natural, undistracting looks designed to contrast with the horror elements and withstand close up cinematic lighting, and a fully practical special effects progression were executed for this project.

The special effects sequence on the lead utilized a two piece silicone prosthetic system:

🩸 A thin, flesh/muscle silicone brow/temple wound, vascular texture appliance applied first to establish the initial injury.
🩸 A secondary silicone piece designed with a flexible “skin flap” structure engineered to pull up and away from the face on camera, revealing internal detailing and depth.
🩸Hand laced eyebrows to match the actress’s face.
🩸 The wound’s interior was airbrushed and hand painted using alcohol activated paint, incorporating subdermal tones, bruising to maintain realism under the scene’s desaturated lighting.
🩸 Controlled gloss levels were added in incremental layers to enhance the sense of fresh trauma without overpowering the camera.

The result is a fully practical, on camera peel effect that aligns with the psychological horror aesthetic of the Silent Hill universe.

Life update: I’m a member of the and I’m going to be a judge for the Emmys!

For some of the people I’m lucky to be surrounded by, membership comes after being nominated to an Emmy. For me, achievements like this come from constant research and intention. As an immigrant, I need to prove my work is “extraordinary” every three years, to renew my artist visa, which means always looking for ways to show that I belong. It’s exciting, stressful, and most of the times very delusional.

Back in February, I updated my film and TV resume and applied, fully expecting a rejection. Instead, I got a surprise email: “Congratulations you are a member of the Makeup/Hairstylists peer group and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Television Academy community”.

THE EMMYS, BABY!!

A few days ago, I went to a lovely welcome event for new members, and now I’m learning to navigate all the benefits and responsibilities of being part of the academy. I’m also incredibly proud to share that I’ll be judging for the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards competition!!!

Sometimes I still can’t believe this is my life or that I’m now among the artists I used to Google and looked up to. Sometimes I still can’t believe I’m one of them now 🥺

Thank you to the Television Academy for having me and to my governors Angela Moos and Vito Trotta !! Can’t wait to see what’s coming.

If you’ve ever felt delulu for dreaming big…just keep going. Sometimes it works.

Next stop? Local 706? Oscars? Bring it on 💪🏻
