Today I want to break down how eyebrow shape affects the overall look and facial perception, using Anastasia Volochkova as an example.

First of all, I want to say I have a lot of respect for Anastasia as a talented ballerina. This is not criticism — it’s purely a professional analysis.

If you look at her photos, especially earlier ones, you can see that softer brows made her look more balanced and harmonious.
Now, due to a darker color and a sharper arch, her features appear a bit harsher.

And this is important: it’s not about age.
Even if we ignore age-related changes, the brows alone create this effect of sharpness.

What I did:
I took her photo, removed the original brow shape, and applied a different one — softer, with a more natural curve.

And look at how the face changes:
it instantly appears softer, more delicate, and more harmonious.

For the color, I chose a neutral taupe (gray-brown) shade —
not too warm and not too cool, because in her case it’s important to avoid unwanted undertones as the pigment heals.

But the key here is not the color — it’s the shape.
A softer curve combined with the right tone creates a completely different result.

Let’s start with Diana.

First, she has a very soft and harmonious type of appearance — delicate features, no harsh lines.
Her natural brows are already quite full, with good hair density, so there was no need to completely reshape them.

Our goal was to enhance her natural shape:
create a soft base, add a bit more depth and definition, but without making the brows the main focus.
Just a natural result that complements her anatomy.

Now about the color — this is the most common question 👀
Why are the brows slightly warm?

Diana has a Fitzpatrick skin type IV.
This means her skin has more eumelanin, which creates a cooler undertone and tends to “cool down” the pigment as it heals.

That’s why I always choose a slightly warmer pigment for this type —
to balance that natural cool filter of the skin over time.

And take a look at her brows 2 years later:
no gray, no ashy or unwanted tones — the color faded softly and clean.

I worked with mineral pigments, so initially the color looked brighter,
but over time it faded very gently.

Now she came back for a refresh — which is exactly how it should look 🤍
