A little treat 🌈 colourpop fade into hue palette

Had a throwback to some of the makeup I used to do in high school. It was so hard to find vibrant colors, so when I did, I would just throw the wildest combinations together.
Here's some fiery orange and green, one of my favorite combos from back in the day.
Trying my foundation again because I forgot how I felt about it. Will check back in on that, I just wanted to wear something I knew wouldn't break me out after the Maybelline debacle

Today's National Sunscreen Day! Whether you burn quickly, slowly, or hardly ever, sunset protection is a must for healthier skin!

Whether you're as fair as, well.. , me or have the deepest, darkest melanated skin, everyone needs 🌞 protection 😎. There are so many skincare and makeup brands out there to fit different skin types, skincare needs, and melanin levels.

Don't try to argue with me that because your gorgeous melenated skin doesn't need sun protection when roughly 6%-10% off skin cancer cases are in people of color AND POC who get skin cancer are more likely to find out later on in their condition, making it more dangerous than early detection. It's important to know what skin cancer can look like on your complexion to include in your regular self-scans for cancer.

Finding a product that doesn't cast white/purple on darker complexion is such a pain. However, i feel like we're starting to see more and more companies recognize that they're idiots and need to acknowledge that their products need to be more inclusive. Is it perfect now? Oh, hell no. Is is improving, slowly, but surely. My biggest suggestion around that is to always read reviews and look at photos of the product on people whose features you feel like you best resemble.

Sun protection doesn't start and stop at spf, clothing, hats, sunglasses, all can help protect you from harmful UV A and UV B rays.

A few more tips:
-With spf products: apply and REAPPLY as instructed
-while applying and reapplying spf/sun protection, rememberber that there are places that skin cancer occurs more commonly due to frequent sun exposure. Namely the nose, ears, neck, hands, lips, and scalp
-When makeup is involved: there are more makeup products and setting sprays now, more than ever before, with spf benefits to stretch out your sun protection as well as primers , foundation, etc with spf
-(not a doctor, just an estheticial with access to google) Sunscreen does not prevent the ability of the body to produce vitamin D and there is not scientific evidence that prolonged sun exposure (even more than a few minutes a day) is necessary for most people to produce enough vitamin D

I wanted to make this first look for halfway to halloween incorporate my piercings, so I added a bunch of faux piercings to the "vampire anatomy".

Meeting again with my sworn enemy, as car wax, to build up my forehead. Glued down with spirit gum. Regular and UV-reactive water activated paints and eyeliner for details

The Mohawk attempt was doomed from the beginning, so please keep judgment low! 🙏
