Vedic Astrology || Mercury Retrograde in Gemini & Cancer
June 29 - July 23, 2026

Before Mercury begins its retrograde journey, it briefly enters Cancer, appearing to pause at 3° Cancer on June 29, 2026. From there, the Messenger retreats back into Gemini on July 7 before stationing direct at 23° Gemini on July 23.

Mercury retrograde has earned a reputation for disrupting plans, delaying communication, and exposing the details we overlooked the first time around. Emails go unsent, schedules shift, technology glitches, and conversations require clarification. While these inconveniences can be frustrating, they often reveal something important: what still needs refinement.

This particular retrograde unfolds entirely within Punarvasu Nakshatra, the lunar mansion spanning 20° Gemini to 3°20’ Cancer. Ruled by Jupiter, Punarvasu carries themes of renewal, restoration, repetition, and divine return. Its symbol is the quiver of arrows, reminding us that sometimes we must retrieve what was launched before aiming again with greater precision.

Punarvasu teaches that there is wisdom in beginning again.

During this cycle, you may find yourself revisiting old projects, renegotiating commitments, reconnecting with people from the past, or refining ideas that are not yet ready for their final form. What appears to be a setback may actually be a sacred correction.

Rather than resisting the review process, embrace it.

• Revisit before replacing.

Most importantly, pay attention to what keeps returning. Punarvasu often brings us back to unfinished lessons until we embody them fully.
