Fourteen years of building something entirely my own. No loans, no investors, never once running at a loss. Every formula slow-crafted by hand, rooted in the practice of slow herbalism: honoring plants, honoring patience, honoring the work itself.

But the real story started nearly 20 years ago, when I first fell in love with making skincare out of necessity. My eldest son suffered from severe eczema throughout his early years, and we tried every modern solution. After years of dermatology appointments I knew there must be some natural remedy that could not only heal him, but remove the scarring and damage that had been caused. I went to the library, and there were free/ out of print books available and one of them just so happen to be about how to make natural skin care. I studied that book front to back and learned about a thing called herbalism which I had never even heard of before. I got in the kitchen and put my newfound skills to work with much trial and error. Eventually I honed in and created a couple products that removed years of burden from mine and my child’s life.

From there, I decided to create a small skincare line alongside my childhood best friend but after a year of doing that with her we decided to part ways. From there, I enrolled in aesthetic school to go deeper to truly understand skin. While I was there, my classmates started coming to me with their skin concerns, encouraging me to share what I was making with the world.
One afternoon, I sat down and wrote three potential names in my notebook.

The recent fires devastating Los Angeles and its surrounding areas have left a heavy weight on my heart. Living about 20 miles away from Altadena, where thousands of families have lost their homes, I’ve witnessed the ripple effects of this tragedy firsthand. Among those impacted are my clients, dear family friends, and countless others. Homes and storefronts have been reduced to ashes from Malibu all the way to Alta Dena, animals are missing, and the sense of security we all cherish has been shattered.

California has seen more fires in recent years than I ever remember from my childhood. As if the recurring Northern California fires weren’t enough, the Mill fire my family narrowly escaped up north in 2022 brought us terrifyingly close to losing our home and pushed us to close our new local business. That experience has left us with a form of fire-induced PTSD, which makes these current tragedies even more gut-wrenching. Living in California, while beautiful in so many ways, has become a struggle. The high cost of living and the increasing frequency of disasters force us to ask hard questions: Where do we go from here? Is there anywhere better, safer, or easier?

Out of respect for my clients and friends who have lost everything, I will not share images of the devastation. The loss is indescribable, and the stories behind those losses are deeply personal. What I can do, however, is offer support. If anyone needs hygienic necessities, clothing for men, women, or children, or skincare products, please know that I am here for you. Since 2020, I have quietly donated $500 a month in products to clients in need. It’s my way of contributing to the lives of those who have been impacted by the upheavals of the past few years. Now, more than ever, I’m reminded of the importance of standing together.

2024 was a life-altering year—a year of sleepless nights and profound shifts. My family has always had a deep connection to our dream space, where visions of change and clarity often emerge. When sleep eludes me, it’s a signal that transformation is brewing. This year, that signal was unmistakable.

As you may have gathered, I’m a private person. Sharing glimpses of my inner world feels both cathartic and vulnerable. The past few years have brought immense change, all leading to the moments and realizations I’ve experienced in 2024. As a young girl, my dreams were vast yet rooted: a bustling home filled with children, a thriving farm or ranch with animals, a business I could nurture from home, and a life brimming with joy and purpose. I’ve had the privilege of tasting the sweetness of many of these dreams. Some I long to reclaim, and others are still unfolding.

My focus has always been on ensuring my children’s happiness. As a mother of four, their well-being is my heart’s compass. Yet, this year reminded me of a vital truth: my own self-preservation matters just as much as theirs. Without tending to myself, I cannot offer them the foundation they deserve.
