The Hair Hug

Such a privilege to be able to cut mi amiga Jokébed’s hair today. I love cutting hair so much!!! And I love being one on one with people, getting to spend a few hours with humans in this way I feel is just super special. I really miss being able to do this as often as I once did. 12-14 hour work days a long behind me.
I thought I’d be naturally talented when I went to school because my mom was a hairdresser, I got to cut hair on without rules prior to school. Then I went to hair school and was completely gutted that I wasn’t actually that good at it at first… i thouggt id be able to cut by feel, but you need to learn the rules before you can break them 😂 many cuts ended in my tears. But I was curious and determined and kept going, now I love and crave cutting… (ahhh just in time for me to not physically be able to work🙈🤭🫠😑) preeple, don’t say “oh I’m not talented or creative like that I could never do that” because as I found out talent is actually just practicing, it’s building a skill. You have to fail to learn! It’s like push ups keep practicing and it will become easier, more natural, like a combo of joy and muscle memory.

P.s I refuse to do a haircut in one hour, i take my time 1.5-2-3hours depending on the needs. All hair is unique. All hair deserves customization. Don’t put me in a one hour time slot. Dont put me in a box. Eewww. Nope

YOU NEED TO TRY FLAX AND ALOE! You can seriously extend time between wash days, you can use it as a replacement for shampoo and conditioner, & you can use it in wet hair in dry hair as a styling product. This is just my home made flax and aloe in my hair. I had a tiny bit of new wash I used on the top of my head when washing but didn’t have enough for the rest of my hair so I used my aloe and flax for the rest of the wash. And then used it to style my hair I put it in before, while and at the end of styling my hair. I ala put it on my face lashes and brows.

Please don’t be afraid to try making your own and using it. It’s so easy. If I can do it you definitely can do it. Your smart enough, your strong enough, and gosh darnet you be cute! ¡Si se puede! TRULY NON TOXIC

I had to stop doing this because it was so effective that my hair was growing too fast, I was getting like a months worth of growth in one week!
