Hidden Problems and Solutions Revealed: Wheat can cause reactions to Gluten, GAD65 Antibodies & Transglutaminases: Here Is A Simple Guide Presented by Springer Chiropractic. Your immune system can sometimes confuse gluten (a protein in wheat, barley, and rye) with your own body proteins. This “mistaken identity” is called molecular mimicry and leads to cross-reactivity — antibodies attack both gluten and your own tissues.GAD65 Antibodies (Brain & Nervous System)GAD65 helps make GABA — your brain’s natural calming chemical.
When antibodies attack GAD65, GABA levels drop and nerves become overexcited. Common symptoms: Muscle stiffness and painful spasms
Trouble walking or balancing (ataxia)
Exaggerated startle response
Increased anxiety or feeling “on edge.”
Shaky movements, speech issues, or jerky eyes

Affected brain areas:Cerebellum — balance and coordination
Basal ganglia — muscle control and posture
Emotion centers — leading to anxiety

This is linked to Stiff Person Syndrome and other neurological issues.Transglutaminases (TG) and Gluten ReactionsTG2 → Gut (Celiac Disease)
Symptoms: Bloating, diarrhea, fatigue, poor nutrient absorption.
TG3 → Skin (Dermatitis Herpetiformis)
Symptoms: Very itchy blisters or rash on elbows, knees, buttocks, or back.
TG6 → Brain & Nerves (Gluten Ataxia)
Symptoms: Unsteady walk, clumsiness, shaky hands, brain fog, tingling. Often overlaps with GAD65 issues.

Testing for Gluten Cross-Reactivity with Other Foods. If gluten-related molecular mimicry is suspected, other foods can trigger similar immune reactions because their proteins look like gluten.
Cyrex Laboratories Array 4 specifically tests for these gluten-associated cross-reactive foods, including: Dairy (cow’s milk, casein, whey, casomorphin)
Oats, rice, corn, millet
Yeast, coffee, potato
And others like quinoa, buckwheat, soy, egg, and pseudo-grains are commonly eaten on a gluten-free diet.

This helps explain why some people still have symptoms even after going gluten-free. How Springer Chiropractic Can Help. We use advanced Cyrex Laboratories testing (Array 3X for gluten/wheat, Array 4 for cross-reactive foods, and others) to accurately measure antibodies to gluten, TG2, TG3, TG6, GAD65, and cross-reactive foods. These tests help identify hidden triggers and guide a personalized plan. Supportive Treatment Options include: a strict gluten-free diet plus avoidance of identified cross-reactive foods
GlutenFlam (by Apex Energetics) — a specialized supplement with DPP-IV enzymes that helps break down gluten remnants and supports intestinal lining health
Chiropractic care to improve nervous system function and reduce muscle tension/spasms
Targeted nutrition and lifestyle support

Early detection and a comprehensive approach can make a big difference in reducing symptoms and protecting your brain and body. Schedule an evaluation at Springer Chiropractic 323-661-1183 to discuss Cyrex testing and see if GlutenFlam and other supports are right for you. This is for educational purposes. Always consult your healthcare provider for diagnosis and treatment.

Ashwagandha Supreme 05/02/2026

Sharing the lessons taught by Dr. Wally Schmitt for stable energy: Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
https://myvites.com/product/ashwagandha-supreme/

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an herbal adaptogen for the adrenal glands and stress related issues. Adaptogens are substances, often herbs, that affect an organ whether it is overactive or underactive. That is, adaptogens have the effects of both lowering an over functioning organ and raising an under functioning organ, whichever the organ needs.

Since many organs including our anti-stress glands, the adrenals, overwork for a while, and then collapse, and then overwork again, adaptogen supplements like ashwagandha are useful to take in any circumstances.

So if you feel bursts of energy on some occasions and fatigue or exhaustion on other occasions, this might be a pattern where ashwagandha would be appropriate. You can try it for a month and see how you feel. If there is no effect noted after one month, ashwaganda is probably not the nutritional support you need. If however, you notice an improvement in energy and a balancing of the highs and lows of your energy, then ashwagandha would seem to be a valuable supplement, especially in times of increased stress.

Ashwaganda is in the nightshade family of foods, and anyone who is sensitive or allergic to these foods (potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, all sorts of sweet and hot peppers, paprika, to***co, and a few others) should avoid ashwaganda.

Ashwagandha Supreme Ashwagandha Supreme is an adaptogen working on the endocrine system that is excellent for adrenal support, fatigue, stress and mood.

Sharing the lessons taught by Dr. Wally Schmitt to improve health & care for others: Drink More Water

People say this so often, that few people pay attention. PAY ATTENTION! Many say that water is the single biggest deficiency in the United States. Soft drinks, coffee, and juices are NOT water.

Drink eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day, or 64 total ounces. That is 2 quarts of water per day. It is best to not drink within 30 minutes of meals, during meals, or right before bed.

Keep water with you and drink it all day long. Put a water container on your desk at work or a place that you pass often at home, and take swigs all day long.

Water is the most important nutrient, but WATER ALONE MAY NOT BE ENOUGH. Chemically speaking, the makeup of our blood is very similar to sea water. As anyone knows who has swum in the ocean, sea water is very salty. As we increase our water intake, we must make sure that we have adequate amounts of natural salts and other trace minerals available. Sea salt contains the other minerals that we need for keeping our blood chemically balanced, similar to the ocean.

All of these must be replenished daily along with water so that our blood, like the ocean, contains everything necessary for natural body chemistry balance. That is why so many people use sea salt (rather than just regular table salt.)

Dehydration in older people is a huge problem, even more important than in younger populations. Many patients in hospitals and nursing homes become dehydrated, and when the brain does not have enough water, dementia symptoms and other psychological changes may occur. In fact, many cases of dementia and rapid onset psychotic symptoms following surgery in geriatric patients are actually due to dehydration.

Dehydration in older people, especially common in nursing homes, can lead to hidden urinary tract infections that further add to dementia symptoms. Since these urinary tract infections are often painless, they are often misdiagnosed. The only signs of these UTIs might be a slight increase in urinary frequency or possibly a white blood cell or two in the urine (often considered to be normal.)

We all perspire daily, whether or not we realize it. And this “insensible perspiration” is a loss of water that also must be replaced. Simply measuring urinary output does not reflect the body’s total need for water.

Make sure that you and everyone you care for is getting an adequate supply of water daily.

Sharing the lessons taught by Dr. Wally Schmitt to save lives:
Do Not Sit Too Long On Planes, Trains, & Automobiles

Get up and move around on planes, trains, and when driving at least every 90 minutes. On planes, plan ahead since bad weather might keep you in your seat past the time you should be up and moving. This is an important piece of advice that is often overlooked, but pays off.

Prolonged sitting can allow the blood to form clots in the legs, and then these clots can be released when movement returns. A free clot is called an embolism and these emboli can lodge in distant areas of the body causing devastating problems like strokes and pulmonary embolism.

Wally shares these experiences: I have two personal bad experiences with people who I knew who did not pay attention to this rule:

1) I was on an overseas airplane trip with a person who did not get up from her seat for many hours. When she finally got up upon arriving, while she was walking off the plane, a clot that had developed in her leg released into her blood stream and she had a disabling stroke.

2) The second case was even more tragic. A patient of mine was riding in a car for three and a half hours without stopping and when she arrived at her destination, a clot released from her legs into her circulation, went to her lungs, and she died of a pulmonary embolism.

Remember, get up from sitting at least once every hour-and-a-half and move around for a few minutes. It can save your life.

I found the truth- If you test for gluten sensitivity with a test that only measures alpha-gliadin, a component in gluten, you could end up with a false negative result.

That is because people can react to 12 different compounds in gluten grains. In fact, one study showed that an alpha-gliadin test — the most common screen for gluten sensitivity — detected gluten sensitivity in only one-fifth of subjects.
The other subjects reacted to different compounds in wheat, such as lectins or other forms of gliadin.

This is important to know if you are trying to manage your autoimmunity and have been told you are not gluten-sensitive. For most of my autoimmune patients over the years, avoiding gluten and dairy has been integral to keeping their autoimmunity in remission. The rest deals with proper nutritional supplements and Applied Kinesiology combined with Chiropractic.

Find Your Weakest Link – And Fix It!

“If the brain were so simple that we could understand it, then we would be so simple that we could not understand it.”
~Lyall Watson (1939-2008)

Our bodies are amazing creations, indeed. When chemicals in our system get out of balance, our
systems are sensitive to these changes and take measures to right the imbalance naturally, on its own.
Sometimes, these imbalances simply can’t be fixed without a little help.
If you are unaware of the imbalances in your system, then you can’t do anything to affect a positive
change in your health status. We have compiled a series of home tests, which you can perform on your
own, to find your WEAKEST LINK and fix it.

Our series of tests include:

 Assessment of metabolic status
 Child Neurotransmitter Nutrition Questionnaire Brain Health and Nutrition Assessment Form
 Confidential Blood Test Evaluation
 Adult Neurotransmitter Questionnaire
Check out our videos here. These will help to explain, in greater detail, our testing process, the reasoning behind it, and the advantages gained from participating.
Don’t Wait… The Sooner You Fix It, the Better
With the advent of Obamacare in 2012, and the inability of patients to use their highly-priced insurance
due to the outrageous deductibles that these plans carry, there has been a push by consumers to find ways to recover, maintain, and support their own health status, having less dependence on the
physician and more dependent upon themselves.
The great news is, that there are many ways that one can be proactive when addressing their health
concerns. Learning about your body, and about the imbalances that cause disease and dysfunction is
the first step on the road to the healthiest you possible. Find the imbalance, find the solution to why you
feel less than your best. Take the tests listed on this page to determine your weakest link.
Don’t Suffer Needlessly, Find the Imbalance, Fix the Problem
Finely-tuned machines need maintenance. Your body is no different. When one hormone gets out of
balance, it can wreak havoc on the whole of your mental and physical being. Finding out the imbalance
and supporting it with supplements, can bring an end to your suffering, or at the very least, alleviate it
and make it manageable.
In our brain, the master gland, or pituitary gland, controls most of our essential bodily functions.
Everything from breathing and digestion to reproduction and much more. We find there the outlet for

hormones which affect every system in the body. These include the nervous system and the immune
system. Some of the symptoms of hormonal imbalances in the brain are:
1. Memory issues
2. Anxiety and depression
3. Sleep disturbances
4. Difficulty learning
5. Chronic pain
6. Autoimmune difficulties
7. Digestion complications
Finding the answers to your health issues and pinpointing the problem, before your health becomes
undermined is a major step in the right direction. The sooner you act, the less severe your issues will
become.
That’s why MyVites offers these five free assessments so that you can find your body’s weakest link and
shore it up. As you learn what your imbalances and barriers to your best health are, and you begin to
correct them, you will begin to realize that you have never felt better. MyVites helps you to restore your
health naturally.
Simply take the tests and find out what steps you should take to begin addressing your biggest areas of
concerns.
Weak Links in One Body System Cause Stress in Other Systems
When one system in the body is out of whack, odds are, the dysfunction will spread to other systems
too. This Is why it is vitally important to find the weakest link quickly and mitigate it, or fix it outright.
Fixing the main source of stress that your body is experiencing often fixes deficiencies in other links.
Once you address your health blocks, you will begin to feel the benefits quickly. Finding those blocks is
as simple as taking MyVites free tests. The results of these tests will be your guide to fixing the areas
that need to be addressed the most. If you improve your health, it will free you to do the things in life
that you love. Your energy and focus will return and you will become “your best self.”
The Tests
Our gift to you are these five free assessments, which can guide you to becoming a healthier, happier,
and more energetic lifestyle. Assessments are simply ways of categorizing symptoms into groups and
figuring out what may be the malfunction in your system. They can identify possible deficiencies in
indispensable neurotransmitters.
We are looking for blocks in your system, which cause the symptoms you’ve sought help to treat.
Looking at the symptoms, via the questionnaire, can help us to determine which neurotransmitter is
out-of-kilter, which gives the doctor options to suggest, such as nutritional supplements that help your
neurotransmitters, such as GABA, dopamine and acetylcholine work most efficiently, and to your best
benefit, returning balance to your brains chemistry and increasing cognitive function.
Metabolic Questionnaire

The Metabolic Assessment Form (MAF) is a study of your own personal metabolic traits. Metabolism is
the body’s process of regulating all of its functions, by regulating the chemical processes in each cell.
The test helps to find patterns in symptoms, which in turn helps to locate imbalances that can be
addressed. Nutritional status is assessed, which ensures that your body is getting the essential dietary
elements that it needs, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids, as well as the metabolic
fuels, like glucose, which fuel your metabolism and your body.
The test consists of filling out the MAF here and submitting the form. The doctor at MyVites reviews
your results, and we then craft a nutritional protocol, formulated specifically for you. We then contact you
with your results, during normal business hours.
Once you receive your results, you can order the recommended supplements that help to support your
particular “weak link.” These will be shipped to you free of charge. Once you’ve implemented your
supplement regime, you can take the tests over, so that you can quantify your improvement.

Neurotransmitter Questionnaire
The Neurotransmitter Assessment Form (NTAF) helps to identify imbalances in your brain chemistry.
Neurotransmitters are the chemicals in your brain that transmit nerve impulses across synapses (the
space between neurons).
Your brain is the most marvelously complicated organ in your body. Answering the questions on the
assessment can help you pinpoint your nutrient deficiencies, and in turn, improve your mental focus and
clarity. As with the metabolic test, all that is needed is to fill out the assessment form here and submit
the form to us. Our doctor reviews your answers and using the collected information, we formulate a
personalized nutrition protocol for you, which we relay directly to you.
Once you order your needed supplements, free shipping included, and you begin to take the
supplements, then you can retake the test on a regular basis so that you can see your progress towards
fixing your weakest link.
Blood Test Evaluation
Your blood chemistry profile tells a lot about where you can find your weakest links. The next time you
have blood work drawn, request your results and fill out MyVites blood test evaluation here. Once you
receive your results and our doctor’s evaluation, along with a personalized dietary and supplement
protocol to guide you in fixing your weakest link, which will ultimately strengthen all of your links,
bringing your body into balance, fixing many of your issues.
Child Neurotransmitter Questionnaire
Is your child having trouble concentrating, or perhaps even sleeping? Do they suffer from anxiety or
depression? Find your child’s weakest link by filling out this Child Neurotransmitter Nutrition
Questionnaire here.
The test can help to pinpoint areas of your child’s neurological health that can affect so many facets of
their development and their lives. Submit the questionnaire to us, and our doctor will evaluate it. We’ll
then craft a supplement and dietary protocol for your child. Fixing your child’s weakest leak can improve
his life in ways that you can’t begin to imagine.

Brain Comprehensive Evaluation
Are you having trouble recalling memories, or experiencing a lack of mental clarity or focus? If so, then you
should assess your Brain Health and Nutrition here. An imbalance in brain chemicals can wreak havoc on
your life, causing depression, anxiety forgetfulness, and even insomnia or agitation.
Your brain contains all of the switches that control your nerves, hormones, and immunity. Keeping it in
optimal condition makes your life easier and makes you more effective, at whatever you do. When your
brain begins to degrade, which is a vast problem in society today, you become someone other than your
optimal self. Our neurons are attacked daily by pollution, inflammatory diseases, imbalances in blood
sugar and failures in the methylation process.
If we are deficient in the most critical nutrients or lack stimulation of our cerebral cortex, these actions
cause unnecessary trauma to the brain. This can affect our cognitive processes, how we feel emotionally
and even our perception of the world around us. This most important organ, the thing that makes us
“us”, must be cared for, in order for us to extend our cognitive capabilities for as long as possible.

The brain, a mass of neurons and immune cells (microglia) is the control center for the rest of your
organ systems. Balance is maintained by hormones that prevent neurodegeneration. It monitors
everything going on in your body and makes use of negative feedback loops to stop the production of
hormones when the optimal level is reached, keeping the brain in a state of balance. Enzymes are

synthesized in the brain which enables the brain to produce hormones, which are very important to the function of the brain.
Even s*x hormones have effects on the brain that go beyond reproductive functions. They stabilize
nerve inflammation, promote healthy nerve growth, slow down the degeneration of neurons and aid in
the repair of nerves, creation of new nerve pathways and increase the efficiency of this process, called
neuroplasticity.
The Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) prevents improper molecules from entering the brain, from the
bloodstream. This system protects the brain’s very sensitive chemical balance, as well as preventing
pathogens from reaching the brain, a very difficult organ to treat due to the BBB.
Dysfunction in the brain equals dysfunction in the entire organism. The brain regulates the adrenal-
brain-immune connection, the thyroid-immune-brain connection, as well as the brain-immune
connection. So, as you can see, the brain, in particular, the pituitary gland, is the captain of your body’s ship.
Keeping it in a relatively balanced state, or in excellent condition, is paramount if you want to
experience your best “you.”
Once you complete the assessment form, submit it to us and our doctor will evaluate your answers and
help to discover your weakest link, we will formulate a dietary and supplement plan to address your
specific imbalances. Excellent brain health is so very important because your brain controls every single
process, even your metabolism. An imbalance in the brain is sure to cause imbalances in other areas of
the body. MyVites offers products to help you achieve A1 brain function. A sample of our available

Typical example of menstrual imbalance in a mother was published in the book, “Common Glandular Dysfunction in the General Practice”, written by one of the most insightful and intelligent doctors I have ever met, Dr. Walter (Wally) Schmitt. Wally sheds the light on what can bring about the misery that is created when the basic steps towards improved function are not fixed in conjunction with diet and in proper coordination with one and other:
A 26-year-old mother of two becomes pregnant for the third time
She has very few health problems and has been very active.
Lately her energy has been running low.
Her diet for her whole life has been Fast Foods, consisting of High Carb foods like spaghetti, sweets, and white bread.
Her first 6 months she had typical symptoms of pregnancy, but she did not experience these during the first 2 pregnancies.
She now becomes exhausted at the least effort which makes raising her children and running her household an even greater chore.
HER ADRENAL GLANDS HAVE BECOME DEPLETED – THE FIRST CHANGE - HORMONE EXHAUSTION
During the last 3 months of her pregnancy, she begins to feel better as she shares the bloodstream with her baby’s input now of the adrenals kicking her own body into gear as well helping her failing adrenal glands.
After her baby’s birth, she begins to have more problems. With the loss of the bloodstream sharing hormones, her baby’s adrenals support pulled out from beneath her, her brain is now pushing a signal (ACTH) to call on her own depleted adrenal function or looking to find any other solution to keep her body from breaking down.
Since her own adrenals are unable to respond, more of the ACTH adrenal signal is produced/released.
This has a spillover effect on the ovaries to take over some of the functions, which CAUSES an increase in estrogen (being a similar hormone) to take over some of the adrenal’s functions.
The excess estrogen however inhibits the thyroid function!
The thyroid gland which is necessary for progesterone production, cannot help out, and once the menstrual cycle returns, she begins to suffer menstrual cramps for the first time in her life.
The excess estrogen levels should be detoxified by her liver.
Since she has eaten refined foods most of her life, her body has now developed a deficiency of B vitamins. This interferes with her body’s ability to breakdown the excess estrogen.
Because there is a lack of fiber/roughage in her diet in addition to the refined carbs, the intestines start to malfunction and the food now sits in her digestive tract too long and a bacterial imbalance and constipation ensue.
This toxic bowel created in greater stress on her liver, causing interference with the normal breakdown function of estrogen. This aggravates the estrogen excess even more.
The excess estrogen levels make her body hold onto water before her period, especially the breasts which begin to swell 9-10 days premenstrual.
The excess estrogen also depresses her thyroid function and she experiences more PMS emotional symptoms with each passing month. In fact, her husband has told her that she needs help, because she cannot even tolerate the presence of people for several days before her period, and she simply goes to pieces crying in her bedroom.
Her period now arrives after a cycle of 24 days as opposed to the 29-day cycle she is used to.
Her cramps are so severe the first day, that she is unable to get out of bed due to the pain and her menstrual flow is much heavier than she has ever experienced before.
If she goes to her primary physician, he tests her blood, and since the problems are due to her lifestyle and diet patterns and well as depleted vitamin levels, the doctor misses all of the above and gives her anti-depressants and tells her to take aspirin for the pain.
Meanwhile a friend tells her to visit Dr. Springer and he has her take her temperature, deep in her armpit at the same time every day when she wakes up in the morning before she gets out of bed, recording the exact temp for a month and seeing any shift. We attempt to look at each piece of the puzzle.
A common pattern is Axillary Temperature (deep at the top of the arm pit) is found to be in a normal range (97.8-98.2) during the first 14 or 15 days of her cycle, but about 10 days prior to her menstrual period, the temperature may begin to drop along with her emotional state hitting rock bottom and at the same time her water-holding symptoms will increase.
So it turns out that many women have a problem which began with stress from a variety of sources, but in this case the increased stress from a third pregnancy and inadequate diet/ vitamin reserve lead to many other malfunctions and symptoms.
The depleted adrenal glands with the help of the increased hormone (ACTH) from the brain, passed the load to the ovaries, which in turn, increased the estrogen and placed a load on the thyroid, which in turn affected ovarian function with too little progesterone to balance with estrogen. The problem is further complicated with the deficiency of vitamin B factor and bowel and the liver involvement (by the bowels putting a stress on the liver from constipation, bacterial imbalance, etc. from a lack of fiber from excess refined carb consumption).
After some time in this pattern, her body may actually shift into a pattern of ovarian hypoestrogenism or possibly hypothyroid. The pituitary which controls the hormone production of the thyroid, adrenals and ovaries, in a futile attempt to keep everything in balance, might finally throw in the towel and stay stuck in a over or under (hyper or hypo) pituitary state could develop.
The adrenals with some or all the above fixed by removing the load and adding what is needed (based on blood work, saliva tests to measure the hormones in the free/active state and muscle testing from someone like Dr. Springer who trained in Applied Kinesiology Quintessential Applications for almost 40 years straight as taught by Dr. Wally Schmitt) may actually and finally be able to bounce back and may even get into a hyper state in an effort to make up for lost time.
All this time the thyroid gland is at the mercy of the ovaries and pituitary, but if healthy enough, will still attempt to regulate the temperature so we can measure it and at least have a clue of what is going on. Wally actually created a series of graphs for doctors to be able to look at a chart of axillary temperature over a month and find the pattern currently going on.
These charts include patterns seen with: Normal function, mild hypothyroidism, severe hypothyroidism, thyroid hormone overdoses, borderline hypothyroid pattern, low progesterone, and as go over above, excess estrogen.
