Erewhon Glendale is officially open and I had to be there. š 520 N. Glendale Ave, Glendale CA 91206
Grand opening today only, spend $100 (three items, basically) and you get a goody bag. Iām sharing everything inside on my stories and saving it to highlights so you donāt miss it.
Now letās talk about the Birdās Milk smoothie ā exclusive to this location only. Birdās Milk is a classic Armenian dessert and Glendale is home to one of the largest Armenian communities in the world. This smoothie is Erewhonās love letter to this neighborhood and I am here for it. Tried it. Loved it. Does it taste exactly like the cake? Not exactly. Is it still worth ordering? Absolutely.
Go if you can, and tell me in the comments, are you an Erewhon person or are you still processing the prices?
Grand Opening in Glendale! š
Real food. Real bacteria. Real healing.
Met the founder & CEO today at the grand opening and I am obsessed.
After surgery left me with surprise antibiotics that absolutely wrecked my gut, I needed to get some good bacteria back in, and this is exactly where I started.
Hereās why Raw Farm is different:
š„ A2/A2 cows ā easier to digest
šæ Non-GMO, family owned, no shortcuts
ā
Unprocessed & living, beneficial bacteria fully intact
š§Ŗ Flash-chilled, filtered & tested thatās it
ā No pasteurization stripping the good stuff out
I grabbed the vanilla kefir, butter, cheddar cheese, heavy cream & OJ ā my gut is already thanking me.
š Raw Farm USA Glendale ā 515 South Verdugo Rd, Glendale, CA
Drop a š„ below if youāve made the switch to raw dairy, and if you havenāt yet, save this post and go see them in Glendale. Your gut will thank you.
3.5 miles at Lake Hollywood Reservoir today, still mostly walking with a few short jogging moments
Thatās where Iām at right now, just focusing on showing up
I'm Sooooo bummed about
Itās a reminder that what we choose to support really matters
Not perfect over here, just trying to make better choices where I can
If youāre looking for more natural material, more conscious sneaker brands, here are a few to look into
ā¢
organic cotton, wild rubber soles, one of the few trying to make a true running shoe
ā¢
leather, wool, cork options, very low material, barefoot style
⢠.shoes
wool and plant fibers, super lightweight, more for walking
ā¢
primarily wool, simple materials, great everyday option
ā¢
bio-based materials like corn and algae, designed for actual running
ā¢
leather uppers, minimal design, small batch feel
ā¢
vegetable dyed leather, cork, very clean materials
Thereās no perfect non toxic running shoe yet, but there are brands getting closer
If youāre starting from walking too, youāre not alone
Follow along, Iāll share the journey
Follow for part 3⦠Iāll actually be sharing the brands I found that are doing things differently, using more natural, plant-based dyes.
I went deeper into fabric dyes⦠and this surprised me.
Some of the dyes used in everyday fabrics are actually restricted in other countries.
And once I started looking into it, thereās more research than I expected on how these materials interact with our skin.
Of course, this isnāt about being perfect. Weāre all exposed to things every day.
But it definitely made me think differently about what I wear and sleep in.
Do you think fabric dyes are something we should be paying more attention to?
This is the hardest story I've ever told. I have filmed this multiple times over the past year but would end up crying and not finishing.
This is the reason I started this account a few years ago but never told my story.
I was almost 40, bedridden, with three young kids I could barely take care of.
I'd seen 25 doctors. Every one of them told me my labs looked fine.
Then the 26th doctor finally listened.
The years of trial and error, and the one thing nobody wanted to talk about that started turning it around.
Follow so you don't miss it. I didn't have anyone telling me this stuff I had to figure a lot of it out on my own. Thankfully I eventually found some great integrative Dr.'s that helped me.
Tell me in the comments: have you ever been dismissed by a doctor when you knew something was wrong?
Part 2 coming!
Iāve been going down a rabbit hole on fabric dyesā¦
and something I didnāt expect is even a lot of āorganicā fabrics are still dyed with synthetic chemicals.
Which means itās sitting on your skin all day⦠and all night š¬, we ain't got time for that!!
I never really thought about it like that, but I can't stop thinking about it now.
It's not about being perfect, I will never promote that but learning and making better swaps where I can is the way to go.
Let me know if you want me to share more of what Iāve been finding I can do a part two.
I had the privilege of attending Canva Create yesterday and honestly⦠I went in hoping Iād finally understand everything Canva has to offer.
Let me be real⦠it was a LOT for my Lyme brain š¤Ŗ
But I did walk away learning a few really helpful things.
One thing I thought was genius⦠they had a Canva Create app to help navigate the event šš¼
If I could do it again, I would 100% go with someone who already knows Canva well so I could follow along better and not feel like I was playing catch up the whole time.
Hereās a quick breakdown of the event:
⢠Massive creative energy, so many creators and ideas in one space
⢠Tons of tools, features, and updates being shared
⢠Great for inspiration if youāre building a brand or creating content
⢠You can tell Canva is really trying to evolve into an all-in-one platform
⢠Met some amazing people and had great conversations
A couple honest suggestions Iād put in the suggestion box:
⢠Please have a true beginner area, like beginner beginner
⢠Navigation was a little confusing at times
⢠Would love to see outside vendors for food and coffee options
I also heard similar feedback from other attendees, so I know I wasnāt alone there.
Overall though, it was an amazing event and I would absolutely attend again next year.
BIOHACKERS LA SERIES, GUT HEALTH EDIT
Not all probiotics are created equal⦠and this one stopped me in my tracks š
I got to chat with the team from Nudora, and what I love is how simple they made something thatās usually overwhelming.
Instead of just probiotics, they combine:
⢠probiotics
⢠prebiotics
⢠targeted botanicals
So itās more of a full gut + body support system, not just digestion.
And the easiest part⦠itās color-coded based on what your body needs:
š§” Orange, energy + fatigue
š Purple, mood + stress
š Green, digestion + bloating
Iāve personally been trying the orange one for energy and fatigue, and Iāve actually been noticing really good results. More steady energy, less of that crash.
We talk so much about supplements, but gut health really is the foundation of everything, your energy, your mood, your immune system.
This is one of those brands that just makes it feel simple.
Have you ever tried a probiotic like this?
Spent the day at the Green Jobs Pavilion during LA Climate Week and honestly⦠this is where things start to feel real.
This entire experience was created by Kristy Drutman and Usman Fahimullah, founders of the Green Jobs Board, with the goal of connecting people to real opportunities in the sustainability space.
And you can feel that intention in every part of it.
This wasnāt just talk, it was companies and organizations actually building a more sustainable future across:
⢠clean energy
⢠sustainable fashion
⢠food systems
⢠climate tech
⢠conservation
⢠and more
What stood out the most is that it wasnāt just about awareness⦠it was about action and access.
Every company was there to help people step into green careers through:
⢠job opportunities
⢠mentorship
⢠education
⢠real connections
Because the truth is⦠a more sustainable world doesnāt happen without people stepping into these roles.
I didnāt get a chance to talk to everyone, but what theyāre doing is seriously so cool and so needed right now.
If youāve ever felt like you want to be part of the solution but donāt know where to start⦠this is exactly what spaces like this are for.
This weekend only in Venice š¤
