On behalf of UCLA Staff Assembly, thank you for all that you do. We hope you take time this summer to rest, recharge, and reflect on all you’ve accomplished. We look forward to another year of growth, connection, and advocacy—together.

2024-2025 Staff Assembly

🌴 Rose is a native of Los Angeles!

🎓 Education:

Rose is a UCLA alumna who majored in French and Linguistics, and she’s also a proud Triton, having earned her master’s degree from UC San Diego..

👩🏻‍💻 Current Role:

Rose is a Research Compliance Analyst for oncology clinical trials.

💡 What inspired Jessica to join Staff Assembly:

Rose wanted to feel more connected to campus life and found that opportunity through Staff Assembly. Although her work is physically removed from campus, joining the Assembly helped them engage more deeply with staff-focused efforts.

Rose is a big fan of fellow Board members! She says, “They are amazing people who do ‘the everyday extraordinary,’ that contributes to making UCLA such a great place. It’s been one of the greatest joys of my career to have met and worked with all of them.”

🎶 Outside of work:

Rose enjoys reading and her creative pursuits, like piano and cooking.

Rose says “I gather some shish*to peppers, arugula, shallots, farro, black beans, spelt flour(?), homemade chili crunch, and the last garlic pickle in the fridge. Then, I make a quick anchovy-lemon dressing with St. Germain elderflower liqueur left over from making a version of Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake (only a 750ML bottle was available), and cherry Jello powder, and create a James Beard-level casual dining experience right from my kitchen.”

Rose reflects humorously on her tendency to plan more than act and shares a playful story about making a pope bracket while waiting to read Conclave.

🌵 Jessica is from Phoenix, Arizona!

🎓 Education:
Jessica graduated with a degree in Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunications at Arizona State University. Jessica is a Sun Devil. However, that was her third major. Jessica originally went to Northern Arizona University as a music major and originally thought she would be a professional musician. Jessica no longer performs, but she still plays her instrument!

👩🏻‍💻 Current Role:
Jessica is currently serving as the Director of Arts Communications and Marketing in Strategic Communications at UCLA. She works on behalf of all of the professional arts schools and public arts presenters on campus. Prior to that, Jessica worked on behalf of faculty in the social sciences and ethnic studies, writing about and promoting their work. Jessica began her career at UCLA 15 years ago at our campus public performing arts presenter, Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA, which now programs the brand new UCLA Nimoy Theater on Westwood. (You must go to a show there).

💡 What inspired Jessica to join Staff Assembly:
Jessica says, “These are stressful times. I see how hard staff work and have made so many good friends and had so many mentors over the years who are remarkable and dedicated to the mission of this wonderful place. I want to be in a position to advocate for them and uplift their efforts.”

🎶 Outside of work: Jessica enjoys reading, live music, rescue cats, trips with big group of friends, and yoga. Jessica also draws, sew, write and plays the flute!

Please make sure to cast your votes by Friday May 30, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

Election and Term of Office:
The Board shall be nominated and elected by the general Staff Assembly membership. The appointment period is July 1–June 30 of each academic year. Immediate Past President may serve in an alternate position on the Board but may not return to the position of President-Elect for a period of two (2) years.
