Goodbye.
As this new decade of life starts, I want to take a moment to reflect, to contemplate just how amazing you are.
Thirties.
Today is the last day we’ll be together.
So much life was packed into you. The good, bad, and ugly, but still beautiful.
I'm not scared or afraid as I feel you prepared me for the 40’s and the new challenges it will bring.
You did not come quickly. You waited patiently as I maneuvered through the storms of the 20s. You waited for the woman I’m meant to be to emerge, to blossom.
Most people start to feel free approaching their 40’s bc they are finally done putting up with bs and the harsh opinions of others in this judgmental world.
I’ve been free.
I’ve never cared what “they” said or thought about me. I’ve always been comfortable with who I was in each moment.
I’ve always choose to show up and love myself in the best and worst of times.
I choose to consciously and constantly continue to make room for what matters daily. What worked in my 30’s may not work in my 40’s and I’m so ok with that.
Let’s be real. Adulting sucks, but for me, turning 40 doesn’t cause too much anxiety.
Celebrating another year of life is better than the alternative so I’m pretty content to grow older.
You were a decade full of events which have shaped me and for that reason you come along with me into the decades of life which remain.
I’m thankful to God each day for you.
Whether you pushed me or pulled me, drained me or fueled me, loved me or left me, hurt me or helped me, you were a part of my growth and I want to say, thank you.
40 will be epic.
If you think I’m bold, loud, outspoken, assertive, unapologetic, and a go getter now…
Just watch.
Asking for me- when do you actually feel like a real grown up grown up?
And if 50 is the new 40, does that make 40 the new 30, 30 the new 20, and what…20 the new 10?
Deuces 30’s!
It’s been really real.
I’m welcoming 40 with open everything.

skin becomes drier, as it was producing less oil during warmer humid summer months.
