The last 8 weeks of going to school, being a momma, and returning to work have been the hardest 8 weeks of this journey. Full transparency- I didn’t want to finish. But the continuous support from clients, family, and friends pushed me until the end.

I cannot express my gratitude in words for each and every one of you who allowed me to practice and perfect my craft on you. The late nights and experiments have had such an impact on my adventure in this industry.

I strive to be in a salon at some point soon, and I will keep all of you updated on that. But for now- I will be loving on my sweet boy for a little longer. If any of my clients need recommendations on some of the AWESOME stylists I worked alongside with in school while I’m in limbo, please reach out. These girls are amazing at what they do, and I’m so thankful to have met them.

I’ve been MIA the past couple weeks. I’ve been working on all of your pretty hair behind the scenes- while putting in some work baby growing! I promise I’ll be back, sharing all the beautiful hair and faces of you all. 🩵

•Why did you become a hairstylist?•

It’s a question we get a lot in this industry. Some people knew from an early age they wanted this to be their career, others are just merely interested in it and find a love they never knew existed. Mines a little different.
I always loved doing hair. Specifically my own. I wasn’t ever comfortable enough doing anyone else’s. I had a people pleasing complex and it held me back from a lot.
Fast forward, I started my job at UPS. I was in college for nursing and was determined to do my four years, get it paid for, graduate, and never look back. Here is where I met Harlie, who soon would become my best friend. The day she told me she was leaving a job to go to hair school I was angry but also so proud. I have sat in her chair from hair school all the way to now. In those years, I have never felt more beautiful, loved, cherished, and recognized than I did when I left that salon. The heartfelt conversations, the catching up, the work life drama. It was the most amazing feeling.
We all have someone we look up to in this industry. Thankfully mine is by my side through it all. She showed me it was possible in the small town industry. She picked me up when I couldn’t crawl. She loved me when I couldn’t love myself. And with her leaving UPS, she showed me it was possible for me too. She showed me that giving other people the same feeling she gave me was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
So here’s to you Harlito baby. I love you, and thank you for paving this crazy, beautiful, terrifying path with me. 🫶🏻
