I’ve been working on my stamina. I’m able to get out and volunteer a couple days a week. I’m not cutting hair yet. My foot is great but my right foot suffered while I was healing. I’ve had several major falls. For a while before surgery I was falling n the middle of the night on my way to the bathroom. Me and the hall wall are very friendly. The falls stopped after the surgery with the exception of a couple really bad ones. The worst was when I fell off my scooter in the bathroom causing a major issue in my right foot. I’ll most likely have surgery on it in the next year or so. First I’ll have neck surgery. I’m happy and healthy. If you’re ever in Jeffersonville, stop in at Bleasings to say hi.

I had the surgery to repair my Achilles tendon on my left leg n March of 2024. I am on target with my progress. I am walking better than I have in 10 years. I’m building up stamina to get back in the salon. It feels good to be reaching my goals. Take care of your feet before it’s too late. This has been the hardest thing I ever ever been through.

I’d give anything to have the stamina to cut and style hair again full time.

Well, looks like I’ll be in a cast for a few more weeks. Going on 9 weeks. I can feel it healing and the pain isn’t so bad anymore. Still not able to commit to working again. Keep me in your prayers. I am so sad not working behind the chair.

It’s been a long year not working in a salon. On July 3rd I received another cast on my left leg. According to an MRI I have a severely torn tendon on my heal. It’s separating from the bone. If this cast doesn’t help with the repair, I’ll be forced to have surgery to repair. I don’t know if I’ll ever work again. Confined to a cast is a challenge that I’m taking on. Most days are good and other days I feel I’m loosing my mind. I miss the clients and I miss the hair.

A letter I wrote..
Dear Clients, Friends and Family,
We’ll, I did it. I left the salon where I’ve worked for nearly 10 yrs. This wasn’t an easy decision, after 3 months in a cast then the last 4 months of pain management, physical therapy and old fashion rest, I realized I can’t work like I use to. So, I’ve decided with my partner’s blessing to retire from working in a salon. My dream is to have a salon in our new home, just so I can keep my fingers in hair. I’ll always be doing hair. I must also say that It’s been a weird transition, with the moving into a new home in Jeffersonville and learning to deal with all the ins and outs of first time home ownership. I know I speak for myself and Jennye woul agree. We sure have appreciated the support ou families and especially, our friends and my clients during these past 7 months. This is why it hurts me to my core to admit this, but my body is telling me it’s time to pursue some of my other interests. I’m quite the homemaker and I love making art. Even though, I’ll never give up doing hair. The art I am creating gives me an opportunity to use the ideas and talents I have in other areas. So many of you have been very supportive and I know you know this but I’m here. I have to admit that it’s times like these that I’m reminded of just how much love is in my life. I’ve been able to stay in touch with clients and old friends. I am grateful for the check ins. I’d feel so alone without all of you. It’s been all coming to fruition for me and Jennye Moore. Our home is full of love and friends coming and going everyday. (Please reach out to us if we haven’t seen each other in way too long. ) I am at home most every day and we live for the weekends and week nights. We are truly very blessed and grateful for it all. I truly believe if you give love you will receive love. We’ve most definitely received love!

Waiting for the day my body lets me work again.

Let's debunk a few hair myths! 🚫Trimming your hair does not make it grow ⚠️Regular trims keep breakage to a minimum, therefore keeping your hair looking healthier 🚫Pulling a grey hair will make multiples grow in it's place ⚠️Pulling or plucking a hair can actually damage the follicle and can actually prevent any hair growing there again - if you want to get rid of that grey - use color. Otherwise embrace it! 🚫Don't wash your hair before you color it - the color will stick better ⚠️Color can better pe*****te the hair cuticle when it's clean and doesn't have to fight through residue and build up.
