It is with a bittersweet amount of both sadness and excitement that I write this post. After 5 years of serving all of my amazing clients, Southern Sass Hair Refinery will be closing its doors on June 30th, 2022.

Whenever a business closes, there is always much speculation as to why. I feel it is important for all of you to understand the circumstances under which this decision was made.

Over the years, Southern Sass has maintained an excellent reputation in the community of outstanding and reliable service. My wish is for that reputation to remain intact after the salon is gone.

As all of you know I am now a mother to the sweetest little girl and my husband has also started a new business of his own. As my homelife dynamic has changed, so have my desires and priorities. It has always been a dream of mine to be a stay at home mother once we began a family. I never thought I'd get the opportunity to act on that dream until now. Most of you know my home is now in Hardinsburg and the commute has been challenging over the last year and a half.

This decision has weighed so heavy on my heart since having my daughter and after much consideration I have decided this is what is best for my family and this season we are currently in.

To all of my clients that have stuck with me over the past 7 years of my career; We have celebrated engagements, weddings and children together and supported each other through the most trying times, too. I have also been blessed with the friendships I have made with all of you and I am so grateful to you for your continued support of me and my salon throughout the years.

We've had many good laughs and share the best of memories. As I take this leap of faith I just want to say again how much I appreciate each and every one of you.

🔴LETS TALK ABOUT COLOR MAINTENANCE🔴

Red hair and fashion colors (pinks, purples, blues, etc.) are one of the highest maintenance hair colors you could ask for. Regular color appointments and meticulous at home care is of upmost importance!

For best results I highly reccomend:
🔴prebook a root to ends color every 4-6 weeks
🔴shampooing only 1-2 times a week using a sulfate free shampoo and cold water. (Hot water opens up the cuticle allowing the color to slide out.)
🔴leave in conditioner- protects the hair from UV fading.
🔴limit hot tools
🔴heat protector always
🔴low temperature when using hot tools
