Update on Doris! I get to go back to work! Tomorrow and Thursday this week 8:30-4:00.
I just came out of the heart doctors office and I'm still kind of confused. He says my heart is only squeezing (whatever that means) 35 to 40% and it should be 55 to 60% so my heart is not functioning properly like it should. He’s more concerned about that than he is the mitral valve at this point. He thinks if they can improve the function of my heart overall that it may improve the valve as well. So taking into consideration, my dad and my brothers had cardiomyopathy and my son’s issue, he seems to think that could be what's going on with my heart as well. He’s sending me for more testing with more heart specialists to try to figure out what's really going on and to rule out everything else before he thinks I may need to have surgery and have my valve repaired or replaced. So I guess I don't really know anymore than I did. But he did say “I can go back to work.” Yay!

This is Doris, and I’m finally home from the hospital. It’s been an educational and rough week. All my arteries are clear, thank God, but I have a leaky mitral valve which the doctors seem very optimistic that they can fix. My stay at Audubon hospital was pleasant only because all the doctors, nurses, & workers have been so kind to me.

The heart Drs have pretty much demanded that I stay still for a couple weeks and wait on one of the best heart surgeons in that field to return from his vacation. They say I need a little rest, not that I haven’t had it this week but I’m going to do what they say. Hopefully when the specialist returns the first Tuesday in June and sees me he will give me a quick fix. That is my prayer anyway, but I will keep you all posted and I thank you from the bottom of my bleeding heart ♥️ 🙂for all your prayers, thoughts and good vibes. I really do appreciate everyone. Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers as I will you and may God bless everyone and may we all love one another as he has loved us..

This is Doris, I’m still in the hospital. And I will know more about when I will be back to work after my heart procedure tomorrow. I will post it ASAP.

Thank you all for the prayers. 🙏 I really appreciate them. I have good news and bad news. The good news is my upper G.I. turned out great. The bad news is I have a leak in the mitral valve of my heart. That’s why I was so tired last week while I was on vacation. This all happened so fast or the symptoms came on so fast. But at least now I know why…The doctors here are very knowledgeable and seem to think that they can fix this with no problem, hopefully tomorrow, but they have to take a closer look at it to determine the cause and exactly what needs to be done to fix it. So here I am not really knowing exactly what’s going on, but partly, and as hard as it is for me to do, I have to leave it in the professionals hands and of course, Jesus’ hands. He’s got the whole world.

Please keep my family in your prayers 🙏 as my mom does not know a thing about this because it would break her heart. I’m one of three of her kids that have had a heart issue. I need to get better because she needs me and all of my family, customers,and friends need me♥️

DORIS will be away from the barbershop Wednesday 5-12. It looks like I’m going to be here at the hospital for another night and day. I’m having a test tomorrow and then hopefully if it turns out ok I’ll get to go home. If not, I may need another test. This is an upper GI. Thanks for all the prayers and if I can return to work on Thursday, I will post tomorrow sometime.

From Doris-“barbershop update..”to all my wonderful customers, friends and family, I’m not able to work tomorrow at the barbershop (Tuesday 5-11-26.) I was on vacation last week and started feeling very sluggish and tired and still was after I got home, so I went to the ICC today and they sent me to ER. That’s where I am now and they are running tests and want me to stay overnight for more tests tomorrow. No flu-no covid-no nothing like that 🙏I’m hoping for the best, but please keep me in your prayers and please call the shop or text me on my cell phone to find out if I will have to stay longer than tomorrow. I’m hoping to come back to work Wednesday and or Thursday this week as I had planned. I don’t know a lot right now about my work schedule or my health but I’ll make another post ASAP. Thanks so much and I hope everyone else is well.🙏♥️and I hope to see you soon.

VACATION update: Doris will be away from the barbershop the first week of May right after Derby Day, from May 5th till May 11th;
returning to work Tuesday May 12 and work that Wednesday and Thursday as well 8:30-4:00. Happy Derby 🐎
