🥹✨I’m so grateful for God, my family, and my friends. I never have walked my hardest journeys alone.

After a few weeks of praying and soul searching, I’ve decided to be a full time entrepreneur for a while. I’m taking a break from lawyer life. It’s bittersweet, but I think it’s necessary. Not gonna lie, I’m terrified. But luckily I’m such a talented individual. I will return back to practicing law eventually, but for now my main focus is myself and my family.

I have been through so much, and I have battled relentlessly with mental health issues and stress and have decided to take a break. That break could be 2 months, or 2 years, who knows.

Sometimes life requires a pivot, and God and I have come to an understanding that everything I do in my life that serves him will be successful. The last shall be first and the first shall be last, and I no longer want to be sitting with the “first” if it compromises my entire being and my soul.

Mental Health is a battle. A lot of people forget that it’s an actual battle. You have to fight back or it will consume you.

It’s been over 2 years since my diagnosis. It’s still a struggle, but here’s some tips to fight back.

1. Pray Everyday for positivity and healing (and read the Bible)
2. Buy yourself flowers every week.
3. Pamper yourself everyday (bath time routines, skincare routines, dinner, wine )
4. Explore nature. (I love to garden now)
5. Only listen to calming or uplifting music (trap music makes it worse)
6. Watch cartoons or happy content like comedy. (Olivia and Stabler, love and hip hop was making it worse. Cuz why everyone dying and fighting, now I’m even more sad)
7. Therapy once a week
8. Get your hair, nails and brows done.
9. Limit your exposure to negative things and negative people. (Only surround yourself with love and support)
10. Wash your face, brush your teeth, wash your ass. (😂 I know yall read this in my voice and laughed, but I’m dead serious, when it gets bad it gets BAD. This was my #1 nonnegotiable for myself. )
11. Hire a cleaner (🥺 I love when Jasmine walks through that door)
12. Give yourself grace.
