Black women have always had a history of self care, whether we knew it or not. From sitting between our moms legs as we get our hair done and our scalp greased. To learning how to moisturize properly, how to feed your spirit from a Sunday church service, or just hearing our moms blast old school jams on Saturday morning when they’re ready to clean their space (and yours). See self care is nothing new, it’s passed down from generation to generation, but sometimes we forget. Sometimes we don’t even recognize the good feeling we get from a clean home, or nice long bath. So let’s remember to partake in that self care, enjoy the small accomplishments, and pass down the tradition.

Sometimes a break is all we need to gain perspective. Whether it be from a relationship, from a job, from a hobby, or a friendship. We have to learn to forgive ourselves and give ourselves the grace we grant others. We’ve been gone for a very long time. Although I can’t say we’re officially back I’ve learned to open myself back up to the possibility. Thanks to everyone that continues to give their support! I hope to see more of you soon.
