If you’re struggling with your skin right now, here’s some skincare motivation 🩵
The first photo was taken in September of 2025 and was the worst that my skin has ever looked. A month before, I tried a new skin tint that contained niacinamide, an ingredient that my skin doesn’t tolerate. I was so obsessed with the shade match that I didn’t even bother to check the ingredients. I also had just moved, was adapting to a new nursing job, and just signed the lease to my own esthetician suite.
Naturally, I was very stressed (my right eye even started twitching 😭) and that began to show on my face. My skin became very oily which lead to excessive breakouts and as a result, hyperpigmentation. My skincare routine at the time was no longer working for me, because my skin barrier was disrupted. I simplified my routine to heal my skin barrier, decreased my stress levels, booked facials, and went on vacay 🤭 I started seeing improvement in my acne in about 2 months!
The last photo was taken in February of 2026 and I’m so happy with my skin. I’m now working on fading my hyperpigmentation that the acne caused.
I recommend working with a licensed esthetician to receive professional facial treatments, staying consistent with your skincare routine, consuming an anti-inflammatory diet, limiting your stress levels, and using an ingredient checker for your skincare and cosmetics. I understand how acne can affect your confidence. I wanted to cry many times but remember to be kind to yourself. This too shall pass 💗
