Some of my classic Buckle Scrunchie colors are no longer made from 100% upcycled fabric, and that shift means we’re scaling. But we’re doing it thoughtfully: producing in NYC & Texas, sourcing fabric from New York, and continuing to drop limited-edition upcycled batches. Those one-of-a-kind pieces deserve a second life, not the trash.

Upcycling was never a trend to me. It came from watching my immigrant mom sew through three jobs, making something out of whatever was in front of her. It was never hard to be "sustainable;" it was our only option.

The AAPI 5K is more than just a race — it’s a celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, bringing together runners, walkers, small businesses, and community to create a safe, welcoming space for everyone to show up and move together.

This 3.1-mile race is designed for all paces:
• Wave 1 (8:15 AM): Competitive runners (under 9:59 min/mile) — with prizes for fastest women, men, and teams (yes… HOKA sneakers 👀)
• Wave 2 (8:30 AM): Open to all paces
• Wave 3 (9:00 AM): Walkers only — come enjoy the energy at your own speed
