🍊 As entrepreneurs, we usually start with a passion. We know how to make the juice, bake the cake, create the product… but running a business is a completely different skill. Cohorts like MORTAR give us the education, mentorship, and community to turn our passion into a sustainable business.
💰 We’ve bootstrapped JWK Juicery since day one. Every cooler, bottle, piece of equipment, and opportunity has come from reinvesting back into our business. We’ve also heard “no” more times than I can count when it came to grants.
Honestly… I stopped applying.
This “yes” reminded me that all it takes is one opportunity to reignite your faith. 🙏🏽

I (kiwi) had to cancel an event yesterday (Hyde Park Market ) 😔 and another one today (HBCU Dayton send off ) 😢 because my body simply wasn’t having it.
Ladies, this is your reminder to stop treating your feelings like they’re inconveniences.
Our feelings are indicators. They deserve our attention and our respect. That doesn’t mean they’re always right, but they are always trying to tell us something. We have to stop suppressing them, ignoring them, or wearing “I’m fine” like a badge of honor.
We tell ourselves:
“It doesn’t hurt.”
“I’m not that tired.”
“I’m okay.”
“I can push through.”
But your lips can lie. Your mind can convince you of almost anything. Your body and your nervous system, though? They’re the ultimate lie detector.
Eventually, what you refuse to acknowledge emotionally will show up physically.
Listen to your own truth.
Rest when you’re tired.
Restore what you’ve neglected.
Heal what you’ve been avoiding.
Your body isn’t working against you—it’s fighting for you. ❤️

Good morning, everyone! ☀️
Unfortunately, we won’t be at the Fort Thomas Farmers' Market market today. My flight was delayed and rerouted to Columbus last night, and I didn’t make it home until 4:00 AM. As a result, juice production is running behind this morning, and we aren’t able to prepare enough inventory to serve everyone at the level you deserve.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and support. We’ll be back next week with all your favorites and look forward to seeing you then! 💚🍏
