Newsflash…coloring your hair doesn’t magically help your grow on social media.

I have never colored my hair and I don’t plan to start anytime soon. It’s so expensive and I love my hair color as it is! I get my hair trimmed (or chopped, haha!) every 2-3 months and that keeps things fun for me!

There aren’t many things our whole family gets nerdy about, but Star Wars is one of them! So of course we had to celebrate Star Wars day with a fun dinner!

Thanks to Pinterest + Etsy, we had a fun themed dinner, a lightsaber craft, and a lightning round of Star Wars Bingo! My kids said it was “the best night ever!”

Simple, budget-friendly family activities are the most memorable. Don’t be a mom who does it all (or tries to!) Be a mom who shows her kid the magic in simple moments.

As a Type A mom of 3 who is VERY easily overstimulated and overwhelmed, simple systems, routines, and tasks are KEY for me to keep my sanity! Anyone else??

Here are 3 things I do consistently every day that keep my home running smoothly and the overwhelming *usually* to a minimum:

1) 1 load of laundry per day—at least! I ALWAYS start the washer in the morning. Sometimes it’s bedding, sometimes clothes, but I always start a load first thing before going downstairs. I switch it to the dryer after the kids are off to school, and either my husband or I folds it and the kids put it away. This simple routine keeps the laundry from feeling overwhelming!

2) I always have a plan for dinner and I start prep in the morning if possible. Sometimes the plan is leftovers and sometimes prep starts later, but I have meals planned and ingredients purchased for those meals so I’m never floundering at 5:00 pm. This helps SO much!

3) I do typical tidying, but I clean one “extra” things every day. It might be vacuuming all the floors or sweeping/mopping the kitchen, or dusting. Rotating through tasks like this helps my Type A self because it’s impossible to clean the whole house at one time and this way cleaning feels much more manageable!
