HOW TO PROLONG YOUR TONER:

1. Avoid heat styling such as blow drying & hot tools as much as possible. Heat styling causes your toner to break down more quickly. This is because the heat opens up the cuticle allowing the dye molecules to escape.

2. Toners are a demipermanent color. Therefore each wash slowly washes out that color. Each application lasts about 20-24 washes.

3. Washing with lukewarm water instead of scolding hot water will also preserve your toner. This is similar to heat styling in which hot water opens up the hair cuticle allowing the color to slip out.

4. When in direct sunlight our skin tans while our hair tends to lighten in the sun. Sitting in direct sun without a hat or umbrella causes the hair to lighten & once again those color molecules slip out.
