they’re told to pay their dues. to be grateful. to keep their head down. that burnout is normal. that toxic environments build character. that surviving your first salon is just part of becoming successful.
a lot of us were convinced trauma was tradition.
consider this the beginning of the end of that narrative.

waking up with such a full heart 🥹💜
yesterday was a dream. i felt like i was floating the whole day. it was amazing to see my community come together and support each other and raise money and awareness for the 💜
we are currently sitting at just about $2300 donated!!!!!!!! but… OUR WORK IS NOT DONE! the benedict center has agreed to keep the donation link open for another WEEK 🥹 even $5 makes a difference. 10 people donating $5 is $50. it all compounds guys. we’ve all spent a lot more on dumber things (you know you have)!!
