Hiya I’m Amanda Houghton (formally Johnson) but there’s another Amanda Johnson in the hair world here now so I legally finally changed my LLC to my married name 🫶🏼

I’m an Idaho native who has been a solo stylist for over 10 years in the treasure valley doing extensions and all things hair and makeup! I love creating and connecting with each and every person who comes into the studio. I have put my heart and soul into creating a cozy warm environment to work in. It’s my passion to teach how to get the most out of your hair color at home and what products will help to maintain your hair until your next appointment.

On a personal note
I’m married with 3 sweetheart dogs who are my whole world. My husband and I are doing everything we can to have a baby of our own 🤍 It wasn’t on my bingo card to ever mention this (as it isn’t my whole personality) but I want to be very upfront with my clients and future guests. I am still very much working full time behind the chair/ running the business, going to classes and staying up to date which has been soooo good for my soul!

At this time I’m only accepting new clients by referral from other clients or from my friends and family. My schedule is 8-10 weeks booked out and I want to continue to take care of long time clients but also take care of me! I have been rather positive about this whole thing and most people wouldn’t even know about this unless I have mentioned it. I just can’t take on new bookings with the future scheduling for Dr. apts etc.

I have been doing a lot of work to slow my life down and calm my body. I enjoy my house plants and gardening in the summer, fishing on the snake river, going to hot Pilates, running with my husband and dogs, watching trashy tv and spending time with family and I will not lie, I LOVE junk food nights with my girlfriends (soooo good for my soul).

And thank you to all the TTC/ mamas for making this a safe place for me to share and for all the wonderful stories you have shared.

A new space with fresh air
My soul needed this badly

Thank you to my parents, my hubby and siblings for helping me through Christmas and the New Year to make my little dream come to light! We have been pouring lots of love into the new space with a fun little face lift throughout. (More coming Spring) and thank you to my besties for listening to me vent about the stress I’ve givin myself about pulling this off during the holiday season

Thank you to every client this month and always for keeping me BUSY while still working out the kinks of a move after being at the beautiful old studio for almost 5 years. (I still walk in circles looking for my trashcan location 😂)

Some fun things I have added for a cozy luxurious experience for every client who sits in the studio:

-a water softener in the shampoo bowl to keep your color long lasting and hair soft and shiny in the most comfortable shampoo bowl you’ll ever lay back in

-immaculate new track lighting (thanks to my dad last weekend)

-lots of new retail coming soon, I now have so much space to showcase it

I am beyond proud and excited to have this new space and for you all to come by and see it! I have needed a recharge after a very emotional 2025 to say the least… life was Lifing a little too hard but it has taught me so many beautiful lessons and the reminder of patience.

I love you all so very much and none of this would even be possible without you all! Xox

Dry scalp season is upon us
3 tips to help
-emulsify your shampoo into your hands before applying to your scalp. A clarifying one is best 1-2x a month
- use a boar bristle brush before bed on your scalp
-use a moisture mask from roots to ends once every other week
-use a lightweight oil from your mid-ends on dry hair daily
-book a scalp treatment with me and enjoy a luxurious peppermint massage added on to any service or alone treatment.
