🚨 PSA: PLEASE Make Sure Your Fireworks Are COMPLETELY Out Before Throwing Them Away 🚨
Every year, firefighters respond to preventable trash can and dumpster fires caused by fireworks that were thrown away before they were fully extinguished.
What many people don’t realize is that these fires don’t always stop at the trash can. A lot of homeowners store their trash cans in the garage after taking the trash out. If even one hot ember is left behind, it can ignite the trash, spread to the garage, and quickly turn into a devastating house fire.
💧 The safest way to dispose of fireworks:
✔️ Drown them in a bucket of water.
✔️ Let them soak for several hours (or overnight).
✔️ Make sure they are completely cold before placing them in the trash.
Taking an extra minute to properly dispose of your fireworks can save firefighters from unnecessary calls, protect your home, and could even save lives.
