My last and first nail care session with Mr. Eric 🤍🙏🏽

Mr. Eric became my client in August of last year, and from the very first appointment, we connected. Every visit, he shared pieces of his life with me during the hour and a half we spent together. Those conversations became something I truly looked forward to every five weeks.

I had no idea that our New Year’s Eve appointment would be our last. That day, he was different. His daughter shared that he wasn’t doing well, but she knew seeing me would lift his spirits, so I made it my mission to take extra care of him that day.

Today, his daughter called to let me know that her father passed away just four days after our appointment. She also told me something that brought me to tears: I was the last person he held a full conversation with.

Even though he was a bit delirious, he knew who I was, and he talked, just like he always did. Hearing that broke my heart and filled it at the same time. I feel deeply honored to have been the person he chose to share his final conversations with.

I may have only known him for a short time, but I pampered him with all the love I had, because how could you not? Rest peacefully, Mr. Eric. Thank you for being a blessing in my life. My work with you is done for now… until we meet again 🤍🪽
