This is a small sample to base judgment on, but its work discussing. In a way i personally agree nurses and doctors should not show tattoos. I would say aggressive tattoos, but then you start to have a fine line who can and who cant. Easier to have a clear rule.
Here is my opinion on this particular topic and why I don't believe nurses and doctors should show tattoos. Most of your clients that you will have to deal with already are in some type of distress. like it or not, not everyone agrees with tattoos. I don't believe this is the profession that leads the way to change societies point of view. If you cannot respect others point of view and adapt for a individual that is in a time of despair then you should not consider being a nurse or doctor. Being a doctor or nurser is not your runway to flaunt your style and uniqueness.
That being said, no individual should be turned down for a job opportunity because of having tattoos. If your job requirement is to cover them up and you do not follow that rule just as any other job related rule, then proper consequences should be taken.
